Josh Ellis @DCStarJEllis
Jason Garrett says Tyron Smith will begin the summer at left tackle, Doug Free at right.

No suprise, and nothing we didn't know. Still, good to get confirmation from the coaching staff.

Now we need to find a RT so Free can fill in the swing tackle position like he should be doing.

Now we just need a Center, Left Guard, and possibly Right Guard.

Almost there fellas.

This is great news now that it's official. I think Free will be fine at RT, but it wouldn't hurt to draft another tackle at some point in the draft this year just to keep pushing Free.

Garrett said switch is not in stone and could be revisited in future. :suicide

Next year's draft they definitely need to find Free's replacement. This shit with Free could have been avoided, had they cut Adams a year earlier and thrown Free into the fire that year, so that he would had two years of full time starts, instead of just one and in his contract year at that, where they ended up overpaying him because of desparation.

I'm okay with Doug Free at Right Tackle. Both guard spots and the center position need to be addressed before finding Free's replacement.

I think you misunderstood me. I'm ok with Free being at RT as well. My problem is and it's been a problem with this team is that we hold onto players way too long. I'm not saying we should cut Free next year, in fact, let him play out his contract, but has his replacement on the roster and groom him while that replacement has two years minimum left on their contract; so that we will have a more body of work for those two years as opposed to just one year.

But wait. I thought we were lucky to have such a player at LT in Free?

What happened to all that bullshit from a year ago?

And I agree with Cythim. Free is really nothing more than a stop gap swing tackle that should only be playing if someone is hurt.

This is complete bullshit

Is it?

Or was Douglas Free the best piece on a complete shat line in 2010? I think as the interior of the line gets better, everyone will see what a jag Free really is.

Or I can be posting bullshit. We'll see.

A few of us were telling anyone that would listen that Free wasn't the answer at LT. Nobody wanted to hear it. Then Smoth was drafted signaling the end of Free's left tackle career.

Only those same people wanted us to believe that teams take RTs as early as Smith was drafted. I guess not.
