Garrett spent a lot of time gushing about Ramsey though the other day though.
ESPN's Ed Werder reported on SportsCenter that the Cowboys believe Ohio State RB Ezekiel Elliott could help their defense and potentially "change their win total dramatically."
Although Jalen Ramsey is preferred by the scouting department -- and top personnel men Will McClay and Stephen Jones -- there is a belief at Valley Ranch that Elliott could have a DeMarco Murray 2014-like impact, wherein the Cowboys' running-game dominance and ability to control the clock allowed them to "protect" a defense that was short on talent. Dallas' current defense is also full of holes, particularly up front and in the secondary. It's believed Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett are pulling for Elliott over Ramsey at 4.
