I bet you're one of those guys who claim Dan Marino and Dan Fouts weren't winners, right?

I didn't see Fouts play enough to judge, but I did see Marino many times. Who is the better QB in your opinion, Marino or Romo? I would take Marino in a heartbeat.

You guys can pretend as much as you want that Romo is an elite QB at this stage in his career, but the win total and sub par performances do not back your theory. I had high hopes for Romo for a long time. I was one of his biggest defenders, but the reality is he will never succeed unless he is a on a near flawless team. He is not good enough to cover for the other blunders the organization has made. He is clearly on the downside of his career and there is nothing this organization has done that gives me hope he will be surrounded with enough talent to win a Championship.

It took forever for the front office to realize a football team requires an oline. They waited for years to address it pinning their hope on Romo magic. It did not happen. Now we need a defensive overhaul. How long will that take? We need a better QB. One that can cover for the massive flaws this team has if we are going to win a Championship. At this point Romo does not have it takes to succeed in this environment. His strings of poor games should wake up even the most die hard supporters.

I hope I am wrong and everything will fall into place and Romo picks up his game and the rest of the team plays up to its hype. I would be happy to be wrong in this case. I like the guy, but the odds of him wining a championship here are virtually zero.

LOL

Now the measure of an elite QB is whether said QB can cover up the GM's fuckups. Literally, he has to make a shitty team championship caliber.

Holy shit. derpBond.

Seriously? That isn't the point. The point is that those guys weren't the problem with their teams. Their teams only won as much as they did because of them.

If Trent Dilfer and Joe Flacco among others can win a Superbowl, Romo can win a Superbowl. If he has enough talent and good coaching to go along with him, that is.

Marino had Shula. Romo has poor man's Rich Kotite and Al Davis Jr.

I think Romo's true potential was brought to light during the '06 and '07 playoff runs. He had good coaching in '06 and the '07 staff hadn't yet been around long enough to stain the walls with shit at Valley Ranch. Now we're back to full derp mode between Ginger, Lacewell, JJ, and Wade Wilson. Not sure how anyone can pin that on Romo, particularly if you watch what 20 other teams throw out under center each week.

I don't read this board much anymore because of posts like these. I really envy those who can use the ignore feature.

All I know is, Tony Romo is the best QB this team has ever had.

If Parcells would have stuck around a few more years, Tony would have a ring. It didn't work out like that, and I don't think Parcells was even that great of a game day coach anymore, but the talent was there for a minute. Now it's washed up talent.

Romo has played on some really bad teams the last 4 or 5 years. He's kept this team from picking in the top 5 every year.

Name another QB who has to bail out his team on the last possession of virtually every game he plays in. No wonder the guy throws game ending picks a few times a year.

All right. I retract all my previous posts. You guys convinced me. It is a good thing he is the greatest ever since he is signed through his 39th birthday. We are lucky to have him that long. I am looking forward to see him sling the rock through the 2018 season.
