I've been saying it could be Eifert for about a week now. If Austin falls, there's a chance we grab him as well. If we grab either, are you going to be pissed?

Personally, I'd be happy with either. Eifert helps us protect the QB and with the running game 2TE sets help protect the QB and give us an extra blocker for the run. Austin is just plain freakish.

not that pissed on austin if he is the bpa. Its going to be hard to sell a tight end though.

I see lots of upside with Eifert, even in the first. I could also live with a trade down. I'm really hoping they don't bite on a safety at 18. I also think a lot of teams may wait for a safety. Therefore, we'll have a shot at Elam and a few others. OL can always be addressed 3-6. We shall see.

only because I don't think it's really a value position.

IOW I don't see a correlation at all between having a top TE and having a top offense. It's pretty easy to do without one, even though they are fantastic matchup problems. I think we could do alot better there and get a comparable TE later.

Jerry says it's a scouts draft. If they say either are the best players for us at that spot, then I'm okay with it. I won't love it... but Id really have to see what else happens in the draft before I can honestly answer the question.

I would be okay with either pick. I think the fans are more worried about the trenches than Jerry is.

Supposedly, when Romo signed he was assured the Offensive Line would be addressed. So far, nothing.

Well, cmd(work), what are you gonna do with Free if you draft an offensive lineman?

In theory, a two TE set is a great idea. In practice, it rarely works because you need such a rare blend of skills from both of them to make it work. Basically, a TE that can block and stretch the field.

We shouldn't let it get to the point where we're drafting a TE in the first round. Trade up for the G if you have to or take anything in the trade down.

Pretty pissed. I fail to see this special player that people apparently see in Eifert, much less for Dallas who already has Witten.

It would be about as dumb as trading up for a QB. If anything else, we should feign interest to tempt someone to jump over Chicago and New York.

Good to see you, Shame. Would you be irked if we drafted Elam at 18?

Good to see you too, man.

I like Elam so I could live with it.. Think he plays with a lot of passion. And I think our defense needs that.. I wouldn't love him at 18. Wouldn't hate it either.

Jerry could do a lot worse.

I disagree about him being a special player. I like the guy. The question is can we afford to pick him when we have other needs. What are your thoughts on Austin?
