It’s Monday morning after the loss to the Redskins. We are out of the 2019 playoffs. Jerry is disgusted with everyone and everything involved.

He hires you (I know it would never happen, but you shuddup cuz it’s my scenario) he hands you the keys to the kingdom, and storms off yelling just fix this shit, I don’t care how you do it, but I want one more Super Bowl before I die! Get it done!

You have absolute control over the firing/hiring of all coaches including assistants, OC/DC, and postilion group coaches. Baby Jeruh is out of the picture and can’t fuck with your decisions. Will McClay is at your disposal if you still want him. You can draft, trade, release any player you want. The only thing you have to do is keep the salary cap in mind. So it has to be somewhat realistic.

Since we lost to the Skins we will now pick 10th overall in the 2020 draft!

What is your first move after firing Garrett on Monday? How do you right this ship that has been adrift in mediocrity for over 2 decades? How do you bring us back to prominence?

I don't know if this is easily fixable. OL is getting older and DL is a mess. This team needs an overhaul. We need find quality at the DE, TE, QB, WR, CB, LT and maybe safety. LT is getting up there in age and we have questions as every other position I mentioned. We won't sniff another SB without a franchise QB. We built this team all wrong. Nothing else matters if you don't have a QB...you're just wasting everybody's time, talent and window.

I know you wanted a plan but this team has to hit rock bottom before we get up. And even then it's not a guarantee but it will give you a shot at the top QB prospect(s).

It looks like we will have the 10th over all pick. We could move up if there is a QB worth the draft capital. Since we have Dak I haven’t paid much attention to the college QB’s coming up because I figured signing Dak to an extension was a given at this point.

Maybe it’s not

Maybe they franchise him and make him prove it like they did with D Law.

But in this scenario would you u move on from Dak and use the draft for his possible replacement?

Hire Urban Meyer if possible. If not hire Greg Roman. If either don't want Dak, let Dak walk and resign the others (Amari and Bryron). If they want Dak, then make sure you draft a receiver, so when Amari walks we aren't screwed.

Hire an OC that understands the value of a running game.

Franchise tag Dak.

Sign a veteran free agent QB, and also draft one around the 3rd round.

Re-sign Cooper to an extension. I think he's a bit soft and also a sulker, but he's talented. He was essentially our first round pick last year, so we can't really afford to let our first round pick walk after just one year.

Re-sign Cobb if the money is right.

Say thankyou and goodbye to Witten, and finally unleash Jarwin. So what if Jarwin can't block? It doesn't seem to bother other teams if their TE's can't block.

Hire a DC that understands the value of a big fat bastard 1-tech DT.

Re-sign Quinn if the money is right.

Let Byron Jones test the market. If nobody is willing to pay him big money then I would consider bringing him back. But we really need to find corners that are proactive, not reactive.

Stop neglecting the Safety position and take the best one available in the draft. Re-sign Heath as a backup and special teams ace only.

Re-sign Forbath, but make sure he has some training camp competition.

Hire a competent Special Teams coach.

As far as HC, I don’t follow college so I don’t know enough about any of them to make an informed decision. As to what options are out there at the NFL level, none of the excite me as a fan. But having anyone other than Garrett is a plus at this point.

I don’t necessarily care for Ron Rivera, but I do like the idea of Norv as the OC. I like what he’s done with McCaffrey and would be interested to see what he could do with Zeke

Witten needs to step back down. He shouldn’t be playing anymore. Thank you for your contribution to the team, and here is a complimentary TE coaching job for you. Maybe he can teach these up and comers how to block when he is no longer in direct competition with them.

Tag Dak, let him prove himself away from the undue influence of Garrett. Let’s see what he can do in a new offense, with a new HC. I’m not opposed to Kitna sticking around. He seems to have helped with his development from last year to this one.

The rest of the coaches need to be gone

I was really happy with Cooper up until recently when he shit the bed, started disappearing in games, and had his case of the dropsies reappear from his time in Oakland. I’d hate to waste the first rounder we spent on him. I’d bring him back if the money is right, but he dropped his way out of the big money contract he was hoping for. He bet on himself and lost

Just as EC said, I want Quinn back if we can afford him.

the first round pick needs to go towards the best safety in the draft (assuming there is one worthy of the 10th overall pick)

If they didn't draft or sign a single new player this coming offseason, just hiring the right coach and staff will result in 2-4 more wins per year by itself.

Garrett IS the cause of the mediocrity on the field. The guy cannot coach. He cannot prepare a team, he cant hire the right assistants, he doesn't hold any players accountable for anything, he doesn't make them work, he doesn't even make the right decisions on which players deserve significant playing time.

Jones sux and should relinquish any and all football decision making that he does, but lets be real here. Jones is NOWHERE near the fucking cancer he was from 1994-2002, when he and he alone made EVERY FREAKING decision, almost all of which were bad. He picked bad players, he picked bad coaches, he created a rotten to the core culture where players could simply run straight past the coaches office to his. At least now the guy listens to others before making dumb decisions.

And before any of your lame asses tries to shout me down and say otherwise, two words: JOHNNY MANZIEL

If this were Jones 1995, Johnny Manziel absolutely would have been the pick instead of Zack Martin. There wouldn't have even been a discussion about it, he'd have simply made that call to the card guy in NY.

I don't know if we're picking high enough to move on from Dak. Plus Cincy will be picking #1 and they aren't going anywhere and will take Burrow from LSU. Will we have a shot at Justin Herbert? Probably not. Tua is toast and that's tough injury to ever recover from, mentally.

Either way, Dak will probably get the franchise tag although I wouldn't rule out Dak taking less than he was asking during the season. He and his agent know that they've been exposed and the fraud will want to maximize what he can get this year because another bad year and he's toast.

I don’t care if you hire Kermit the fucking frog as Head Coach, just get someone new !

i would fire the entire coaching staff. and cut at least 30% of the players.

that would be a good start.

i think kermit would make a great HC. He is probably more of coordinator, but hey give him a shot!!

Only job Jimmy might take is GM. He doesn't want to coach again or would have by now. Do you think folks haven't thrown money at him?

Jimmy's more than done with the grind. He's never going back to the NFL or college ball in any capacity. Hell, he doesn't even work fulltime for Fox. He does the pregame show then catches a Jet back to Miami, then boats or helicopters back out to his island in the Keys.

He doesn't care about anything but fishing and having a good time, and his Fox salary allows him to have what he wants out of life. He's not about to marry himself to any fulltime job no matter the salary.
