Ray Horton never made it to town to interview with the Dallas Cowboys.

Horton, formerly the secondary coach with the Pittsburgh Steelers, was named Arizona's defensive coordinator today. Had the Arizona situation not worked out for Horton, he was going to meet with the Cowboys about a position on the staff of new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan.

The Cowboys at one point had Horton on their list of candidates for the defensive-coordinator position. They never had a chance to talk with him during Pittsburgh's run to the Super Bowl.

The Cardinals facility is a few buildings over from my job. I'm going to walk over there and straighten him out.

That sucks in a way, because he would of made an excellent DC here in the future.

Thing is he wanted it now.

I don't blame the guy. Sucks for us though.

If Arizona can shore up their QB position, they could be annual playoff contenders in that weak division.

LOL. That could be said for any of those teams in that division. Look what it did for the Rams.

Horton was one of the few early 90's Cowboys with the sack to stand up to Jimmy.

Well, if that's true, why would that be a good thing? Why would you want anyone standing up to the guy who built you a dynasty?

I wouldn't call that courage. I'd call it idiocy.

from what I've read, not so much in a back talking kind of way, but in a "Jimmy, calm down, man." way. Seems Jimmy respected him.

I dont know what this means honestly, but I do know he was absolutely awful as a safety here.

Once they benched him, the secondary got better.

I don't blame him for taking a more high profile gig, but how long can you count on that job? Another crappy season and that staff is going to be on the hot seat and he may be 1 and done as their DC.

Although, since he's not coming here it appears Campo is safe. Maybe Horton will be his replacement just one year later.

Damn, I use to work right across the street from that Tempe location too. Honeywell on Warner rd. :lol

It's a small world. Just the other day, sbk92 and myself were talking via PM and discovered that I slept with his current girlfriend, years ago, before they met of course.

And now today we find out you two used to work near each other.

Amazing if you think about it.
