From Mike in Arizona:
Bro, you can say what ever you want on a forum as long as it is within the forum rules. If you want to look foolish and get slaps on the back by others looking foolish I don't believe I am standing in the way of their hands.
But here is where it seems to get rather tricky for some silly reason. Just as you can post whatever you want, state whatever opinion you want...wait for it...so can I. I get the same privilege don't I? And if I choose not to be a butt hurt reactionary in what way does that deny you your right to be one? That makes about as much sense to me as me saying "Pissing on an electric fence hurts." Then you do it yourself, and discover that it indeed does hurt, but you blame me for not telling you not to do it. I told you it hurts. From there, you're on your own.
All the time I see one side or the other claiming that they can't be negative about something or positive about something here. Baloney. People are positive and negative about every single subject here. All the time and always have been. The only times the Mods step in is when it gets personal. Why does it have to get personal in the first place? Do you know what those people on both sides are actually whining about? That not everyone agrees with their stated opinion. It doesn't matter whether that stated opinion is positive or negative, someone is possibly going to disagree. That's the real world. Taking offense to that is stupid.
Point of order, the only offense I have ever taken here, is when people have gone out of their way to make it personal. Then I fire back. Disagree with me all day and I won't lose an ounce of respect for you. That's what a forum is supposed to be. I can't in good conscience say that is what happens here. There are constant digs, jabs, and ad hominem attacks. Jab back, and get accused of lacking objectivity. The problem is, I don't, and I don't believe you can deny that and still be honest with yourself.
