Well I think it's bullshat. It's why I sent the email for confirmation. I think they're spinning routine interviews into contract offers.

Nobody wants to coach here yet we landed a well regarded coordinator for the defense. A guy who could be considered a hot commodity right now with the success of his brother. And a guy who the Eagles were reportedly interested in.

The Raiders wanted him to come back too apparently.

I think it could be just as easily inferred that Ryan was the Cowboys top choice all along, but because Cleveland hadnt resolved their HC issue, he wasnt allowed permission to talk with anyone else. Once that was resolved, Ryan got permission to interview here and they offered him the job on the spot, after having the longest visit of any of the candidates.
