This team has an incredible amount of holes

Dline
Oline
CB
OLB (spencer wants 10M/yr-BYE)
S
WR
TE

It's impossible to fill all of these holes in one draft...given our situation, I think it would be smartest to just select the BPA at these positions and call it a day...

Because this is our situation, some people are going to want to address certain areas, while others want to address others...leading to many unhappy people

I'd like to throw numbers at both trenches.

I'm not sold on any of the safeties or tight ends, outside of the top 2 or three in the draft, so I'd rather not reach for someone just because.

WR isn't a need. I've been a fan of drafting Joe Adams, based on his versatility and speed, but again, not a priority.

I'd like to get at least two Dlineman (Cox & Chapman would be awesome), and two Olineman.

Why isn't WR a need? A 3rd WR in todays nfl is like a starter.. KO is not a starter..same thing applies to our #2 TE..given the amount we run two TE sets, that position is practically a starting position

It should be perfectly obvious by now that we don't have the braintrust in place to find the right players, so there's gonna be a lot of unhappy people no matter what.

TE is a hole? It just needs depth. Sure I'd like to Take a chance on a Ladarius green type if the opportunity presents itself, but we haven't been getting spanked by the giants b/c of our TE situation. Our #2 TE just signed up to be their #1.

Look at what's been getting us beat. It's being manhandled on the LOS in the biggest games at the biggest moments. Another stud TE isn't going to fix that. An in the box safety isn't going to get Eli off the field late in the game.

Because when you have Witten, a third receiver is really like your fourth receiver.

And Romo has a history of making no-names into household names.

Austin, Crayton, Robinson. Ect.

Problem is there aren't many players who play in the trenches that are worth 14...what if cox, Decastro, and Poe are gone?

Exactly. Holes are places where we lack starting caliber talent. That's NOT TE or WR or LB.

We may not be able to fill all of our holes, just by the sheer number of the holes we have and the availability of starting caliber talent. But we don't need to be spending premium picks on places where we just need depth.

LB isn't a hole? Spencer isn't coming back after this year.. That's a hole.. Just bc you have spencer 1 more year doesn't mean you get tunnel vision and put it on the back burner til next year.. Same thing w CB..CB isn't as sure of a need but it's pretty damn close

Plus Ausin is a durability question and who knows with Dez.

I don't think brokers is quite good enough for 14. They'd trade down if he's bpa IMO

There aren't enough players in the trenches for you to make all this happen..

Cox
Coples
Decastro
Glenn
Brockers
Poe

That's it..some of those will be available at 14.. Once you move down, they could be all gone..then what do you do if you lose out on all these guys? Take Brockers at 14 and call it a day..dude has unlimited potential

Lets just petition the NFL for 100, and a roster expanded to 350 players draft picks so we can fix everything this year.

The Huddle Report lists 2 players out of all those guys in the trenches w 1st rd grades

Cox
Brockers

They also give Barron a 1st round grade..

I agree that fixing the trenches is a major priority for this team..our draft position hinders our ability to land Cox..

My top 3

Cox
Brockers
Barron

If we have Spencer right now, then LB is not a hole. It may become a hole, but you never know what could happen in 12 months. And I'm not advocating for tunnel vision. How could it be tunnel vision when we have actual positions where we have no starter or shitty ones? I'm not saying we need to draft for special teams or backups when we could be looking for Spencer's replacement.

At the end of the day OLB is just as big of a hole as any other position..sure, we have spencer this year, but big deal..he is a goner..you don't draft for this season, you draft for the future..just so happens that there aren't any OLBs worth taking at 14.. So we don't really have to worry about it..however, if there was an OLB worth taking and he was the BPA, I guarantee you he'd be the pick bc OLB is a need
