Garrett: Cowboys Still High on Brandon Carr
Carr has had some rough stretches since coming to Dallas back in 2012

In two seasons since signing a five-year, $50 million deal with the Dallas Cowboys, cornerback Brandon Carr has shown flashes of greatness. But on the whole, he really hasn’t lived up to expectations. He hasn’t been “Morris Claiborne” disappointing, granted, but he hasn’t been the shutdown corner Dallas had hoped for when they brought him in two years ago, either.

All that said, head coach Jason Garrett says the team remains high on the 27-year-old.

“We have a lot of confidence in him,” Garrett said of Carr, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “He plays very well. He’s had a couple of games he certainly would have liked to have played better in, but again, we evaluate what we did as a defensive staff in some of those games and how we could have put him in a better situation.

“He’ll learn and grow from all of those experiences. He’s the right kind of guy. He cares a great deal about getting better.”

I do to. I'm hoping last season was an fluke. He played pretty well for us in 2012, and was money for KC before that.

Hard to judge corners when we lack a pass rush and decent safety play.

I'll always hold a special place in my heart for Carr because of that Pittsburgh overtime INT.
