The article itself is as comical as its headline. The writer builds his "case" merely on regular season winning percentage when a "franchise" quarterback starts since 2014 throwing out 2015's 4-12 campaign as an aberration. Well big whoopee fucking deal. He goes on to say that greatness is merit oriented. Well you fucking dumbass, Garrett doesn't merit. Tossing the word "great" around so loosely shows your lazy intellect. You cannot even be considered to be great if - by your own meter - you don't win where it really counts. In the playoffs and the Super Bowl. AND when your starting quarterback is hurt! That's when the great coaching makes the difference!
I don't call even Jimmy Johnson "great." But if you did, at least you would have a good argument to be made. Unlike Garrett, Jimmy personally BUILT that monster team of the 90s. Hand-picked the coaches, assistants, players and specialists. Daily mixed and optimized the chemistry with masterful skill. And WON GAMES WITH BACKUP QUARTERBACKS! Garrett by all accounts just stands there like a smiling doofus and drives the bus. And more often than not, runs it off the road with his idiotic in-game decisions. And claps.
He is NOT great, he will never BE great. He froze his own fucking kicker. Just stop.
