from your link ..

Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State: "Solidified a mid-first grade. It won't say a lot about what he does on the field, but a 4.79 at 298 pounds is a pretty freaky number for a DT. Good week for Cox."

Thoughts: I knew Cox was quick and fast on his feet, but I didn't know he was 4.7 fast. He's powerful and showed last season that he can really wreak havoc in opposing defensive backfields. If not for a tremendous showing by Memphis' Dontari Poe, Cox might be slated as the top defensive tackle available in the draft.

I know he's more of a 5 technique DE in a 3-4. but I've read he can play outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense to because of his size.

Okay, my bad I was wrong. Cox is more of a 5 technique DE. It was Mercilus who I was thinking of as an outside linebacker.

I stand corrected, you win c.

nobody wins here. This is a discussion board, we debate. I am addicted to the draft and watch tons of games, ready everything I can find on the draft, and I thought Jason Witten was the other (Black) TE at Tennessee. When I saw him in the preseason I was like who the hell is this white guy.

You know what, scroll down where the Chris Low article is, and just under Cox's review is Ingram.
That's where I thought it said Cox can play outside linebacker in a 3-4.

At any rate I still think Cox would be a great pick at 14 if we didn't take DeCastro. It's the front seven we are looking to improve so maybe he could push Spears or Hatcher. Maybe even replace Coleman.

I think we should take a look at Alabama's Josh Chapman. I bet he'd make a great OLB.

:awkward

Yeah, the only versatility Cox provides is schematic like cmd said. Either 4-3 DT or 3-4 DE.

Mercilus and Chandler Jones. Some think Jones could bulk up enough to play 3-4 DE.
