14. Cowboys - Memphis DT Dontari Poe

I know a lot of you are going to hate this pick, but I don't think DeCastro falls to pick #14. Besides that point, the drafting of Poe finally kick-starts the move of Ratliff to defensive end. Poe could have a Phil Taylor type of impact his rookie season, and with the right prodding could be a fixture at the nose position for a while.

I considered Dre Kirkpatrick here, or Melvin Ingram, but neither could be as special as Poe is primed to be.

45. Cowboys - Arizona State QB Brock Osweiler

Another pick a lot of you are going to hate, but Romo isn't getting any younger and it's high time Dallas starts trying to groom a franchise signal caller before there is no franchise signal caller. And who knows? We could probably flip him for a 1st round pick in the future.

82. Cowboys - Coastal Carolina CB Josh Norman

Normally I would be against a small school corner with our lack of success with them lately, but I have faith in Jerome Henderson, and besides, Norman looks like he can play in the NFL. Is a press-cover corner who loves to bait the QB for interceptions. I never liked the Josh Thomas pick and AOA was extremely raw, even for a FBS school player, which is why I can feel comfortable taking Josh Norman.

113. Cowboys - Baylor C Phillip Blake

Big, experienced and athletic (former RT) center for one of the nation's most explosive and productive offenses. I think we will end up signing an offensive guard in free agency, and already have two young guys on the roster with some upside.

Will finish when I know the rest of our selections.

I dont think its bad, but unless we acquire some extra picks early I dont think we'll draft a QB that high.

Unless they sign one via free agency, I do think one of the first two picks will be a pass rusher.

I didn't see a pass-rusher good enough to take at our spot in the 2nd round. Some of them were ranked higher, and the rest a bit lower. And our LBs would be better served having a stout wall in front of them, which is why I take Poe in the 1st.

Ratliff-Poe-Lissemore/Hatcher would be a great front 3. Then you could have Josh Brent rotating with Poe and our overall pass-rush would be much better.

The problem isnt drafting small school players. Its that Jerry crowns them in the media before they even practice. The media takes off with it and now its a legend before he plays a down.

I think the problem is is that we take small school players with great boom potential, but that also carry great bust potential along with them. Plus not having a secondary coach worth a shit since about 2006 to develop and cure that potential and thus turning it into something positive.

Ronnell Lewis - Kendall Reyes, DE, Connecticut

Oklahoma outside linebacker was bigger than his listed measurement in the 240s. Lewis (6-2, 253) indeed packed on some muscle..

I change my draft to:

1. Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis
2. Rueben Randle, WR, LSU
3. Josh Norman, CB, Coastal Carolina
4. Michael Egnew, TE, Missouri

Bear with me. The Packers take a WR in the 2nd round seemingly every year and are none the worse for it. We draft a WR playing TE in Egnew.

It actually takes some brains - which you seem to be lacking

Yeah, us drafting an ILB in the 1st with other needs more pertinent---primarily OL and the secondary, is certainly a display of someone that is a charter member of Mensa.:jerkoff

Yeah. Seeing we really don't know shit about drafting prospects. Unless you're full of yourself.

Then it's for fun, has nothing to do with having guts. But at the same time, one should employ a bit of common sense. Speaking of which... where is your mock? Or I guess you also "don't have guts"?

If you're going to put a mock up here, epxect it to be subject to either praise, or meh, or criticism, but often all of the above. None of it is to be taken personally.

I like Ronnell Lewis, but do you think he's going to be any better on run downs than Victor Butler?

Kicking Ratliff out to DE with the drafting of Poe, and having Lissemore who looks like a find at the other DE spot, kind of negates the need to draft a DE (such as Reyes) high. Seeing as how Hatcher is still signed as well.

I've had a mock posted for weeks now. I've admitted it was quite early to post one, and I would probably do another because of some changes in players after the Combines, try checking the draft forums. kthxbai.
