Dude you're crazy. He had some acceleration but that was about it. He had below average speed, strength, hands, blocking, heart, vision. And his tackle breaking was non-existent. He's a talentless ball of shit. It was always obvious ray rice was the stud. Felix was a gimmick look at us wildcat herp derp explosion offense thnudder and lighting

I think you need to go back and look at Jones' early years here

Hey genius, do you thnik it would have been worth it to resign him for any amount of money after his last couple of seasons here?

The argument you are making is kinda ridiculous. The only reason they found anyone to take him was because Pitt was utterly desperate for veteran RB help.

resign him for any amount of money?? Yes, I'm the one making ridiculous arguments. Clown.

The Eagles at least got something in a trade for him. What did we get in compensation for him?

Nothing, we let him play out his contract and leave. he didnt warrant us resigning him for even the league minimum.

I think you are missing the point.

I'm saying he wasnt worth ANY amount to resign. He wasnt even worth the league minimum here. We let him walk, as we should have.

If he had been here, maybe he would have gotten traded. But he wasnt here, which was the RIGHT thing to have done. he isnt as good right now as any of the RB's we will be keeping on our 53.

I love how you avoided the point. We got nothing and lost a first round pick. They gave him nothing and they got something in return for him.

Two things. We seriously overvalued him when we drafted him. Then we overvalued him again last year when Detroit wanted to trade for him. This organziation makes nonstop personnel mistakes and you make nonstop excuses.

In the last 17 years, there are dozens of examples of this Front Office's ineptitude and very few to support your ridiculous cheerleading.

Two words that hammer this point home.

Roy.

Williams.

And, I ain't talking about the safety.

Lol who knew a career backup couldn't handle the workload like a guy who grounded out 35 carry/275 yard games.

Kick return ability ftw!

Had the Cowboys not drafted Jones they would have drafted Mendenhall instead and he sucked worse. OMG we didn’t draft Ray Rice, a lot of team passed on him. Felix was a good player and was worthy of the high pick.

I can be as wrong as anyone but I wanted Chris Johnson that draft. 100 cool points for me.

MB4 is a Rutgers guy but he was all over Ray Rice and he was dead right.

This team ruins running backs. Ray Rice would have stayed hurt here, just like every running back we've had since Emmit. If I can't say oh look how Decastro stayed hurt last year or how Pugh just got hurt in New York, because we don't know how they would have played out here, don't come telling me how great Ray Rice would have been behind this shitty ass line the past few years either.

I don't know any draft guide or guru that had Jones rated as anything lower than a late 1st rd pick, so how did we overvalue him?

Then we overvalued him again last year when Detroit wanted to trade for him.

Was this ever reported as an actual fact, or is it speculation?

Cant argue with that. Its true.

All I'm gunna say is, a Lot of teams passed on Tom Brady in a draft once. It could happen to anyone.

Johnson has had a few good seasons and hasn't done a thing since if I'm not mistaken.

2008 RB's
Darren McFadden, picked 4th, 3334 yards rushing, 18 TD's
Jonathan Stewart, picked 13th, 3836 yards rushing, 27 TD's
Felix Jones, picked 22nd, 2728 yards rushing, 11 TD's
Rashard Mendenall, picked 23rd, 3549 yards rushing, 29 TD's
Chris Johnson, picked 24th, 6804 yards rushing 44 TD's (at least 1000 yards each season he's played)
Matt Forte, picked 44th, 5327 yards rushing, 26 TD's
Ray Rice, picked 55th, 5520 yards rushing, 33 TD's

We missed and we missed badly. Surprise, surprise.
