More than one year.

I'm not speaking for the teams, I'm telling you what they'd do based on what they've always done in the past.

The Eagles are one of the cheapest organizations in all of football. They only way they sign a young guy early is if they give the team a serious discount. Hence the upcoming DeSean Jackson confrontation. There's a guy who's been a stud for several years and they still don't want to pay him like a top wideout.

They certainly wouldn't break from that for a guy like Doug Free.

C'mon, you have to have a number.

I agree don't pay him the big contract yet.

Let's wait and see.

It's a bad situation.

Let him walk and you might be worse off, considering you have no talent along the entire offensive line.

Tag him and you're completely over paying the player at a time when the cap is probably coming back and we're in bad shape there.

Sign him to a lucrative extension and you have another horrible contract on the books for a player that will never earn that money.

I wouldn't sign Free to a lucrative extension. Just one that is market value for LTs. I don't feel confident that we can just let Free go and replace him at LT just like that.
