He had 3 sacks in the first 3 games, so there were only 3 more the rest of the year. He saw more 1 on 1 blocking than anyone on the team and rarely beat his guy or even pushed the pocket.

He isnt a scrub, but he isnt the answer opp Ware either.

Nobody expects the DE's in a 3-4 defense to "win" those 1 on 1 matchups and get to the QB though. The OLB's in a 3-4 are supposed to win alot of them, and Spencer doesnt. I dont ever recall seeing a play where Spencer was ever double teamed. it may have happened, but I dont recall it. Ware drew alot of double teams and even occassional triple teams. Ratliff drew alot of double teams. But Spencer couldnt win his 1 on 1 and thats why the pass rush was such a failure again this year. He won those matchups the 2nd half of 2009, when he was a dominant player. He hasnt looked like that guy since.
