Draft or no draft....

With the players talking about a possibility of no draft in the future, I was wondering if anybody would actually prefer that. I think we all love the draft, but as a Cowboy fan....you might be better off without it.

I highly doubt it would ever happen but would you rather have all these college players enter the league as free agents?

We have that lure of the Dallas Cowboys working for us. I'd imagine in a truly uncapped free agency situation, we'd be bringing in top classes every damn year. Our pick of the litter.

New York would be hauling in quality players as well and Washington has enough money to lure the kids who are not attached. We would end up with 6-10 competitive teams and a whole lot of nothing at the bottom. I prefer a regular season where almost every game is significant.

Just to clear things up.. the players don't actually want to take away the draft. The draft isn't going anywhere.

That's how I feel. The draft is my favorite sporting event of the year and there isn't a close 2nd.

But not having one would almost definitely help the Cowboys. So I'm torn.

Best case scenario, no draft for one season then we get back to the draft process after that.

I would vote for that right now.

It would be interesting to just see how it would be done. I'd imagine the Redskins would lose their minds in that scenario and announce 5 signings the first hour.
