ive spoken with bill jones a few times now..hes mentioned to me that it may be time to just start building a new core..im not sure if that is the plan or not..but with this whole youth movement thing going on, it very well could be
I think that is a naive statement from bill. We are already building a new core. It started last year.
The old group is gone. Its over. That team that we thought we had going into 2010 is long gone.
Romo, Ware, Witten, Ratliff and spears are left from it. I dont really count the 08 guys. they are like caught between the old one and the new one and in a year who knows if felix and spencer will even be here anymore.
The new group is being put together right now. Murray, bryant, smith, carr, lee, connor, bailey, vickers etc...
throw in this years draft and its a whole new team.
I have been bummed by the organization since that first half in ny but I am starting to feel the excitement come back to me the way it usually does.
BY the time training camp starts I am going to be really excited to see how all this new talent works together, how the new coaches operate, how rob ryans second year after a full season and offseason looks, how woicik helps etc...
and in the preseason its going to be great to see our team with alot of depth at a number of positions. We should do well in the preseason games, not that it means anything just that it will be good to see the depth.
clearly we have issues, but a good draft is going to put us right back on track.
