Marty B went ot one pro bowl and was an alternate I believe. Not exactly all that.
Except, after Dallas his productivity exploded. When is the last time WE had a TE catch 90 passes? When is the last time WE had a TE in a Pro Bowl?

Bennett isn't a bust, the Dallas coaching was. It's not even a debate.

actually it is a debate and a guy named Witten is usually in the pro bowl and I THINK he plays TE. And I believe he caught over 100 a couple of years ago...

Not usually this easy to own someone....

Marty B thought he could slide here in Dallas and just did not put in enough effort. THAT is clear. Once we let him go he got sufficiently motivated to do better AND YET his second team let him go and then a THIRD TEAM LET HIM GO.

You cannot blame that all on Dallas coaching.

Dude, stop it with this shit. He was the STARTER elsewhere. He was NOT the starter here. He was behind a HOF TE who by the way has FOUR seasons with 90+ catches, including one with 110. he's also had four 1000+ yd seasons and several others where he had well over 900.

Witten's made 10 probowls dude.

Now did we properly use the 2TE sets. No, we never have and they've wasted Gavin Escobar in much the same way they wasted Fasano and Bennett. That said, OF COURSE he was going to produce more as the #1 TE elsewhere where he's a legit focus of someone's passing game. That's common freaking sense.

Wrong. You gotta go all the way back to 2012 to get 90 receptions for Witten, and 2014 to see him in the PB. Although, it's true he's been there 10 times.

Correct, like you just saw me do to you.

Those teams ALL got a lot more out of him than we ever did, and ALL got good trade value for him, instead of nothing, like us.

Once again, watch Martellus in the Hard Knocks reruns - it is quite clear he didn't respect these idiot Garretts. Can't blame him at all for taking the money and leaving first good chance he got.

Amazingly, after leaving Dallas he started getting productive.
You cannot blame that all on Dallas coaching.
Sure I can.

If only the Cowboys knew what they had in Witten when they drafted Bennett in the 2nd round.

Oh wait...

He's a goofy bastard but a talented tight end. The Cowboys wanted to go 2 TE and never figured out how to get the most out of him. Even Romo couldn't get the timing right for jump balls with Bennett.

Cowboys blew that one. It's not like they didn't know Bennett was a peculiar dude at Texas A&M because everyone did.

Yep. Its just further proof again of the idea that they need to quit wasting resources (especially premium draft picks) on guys that have any sort of attitude, love of the game, off field etc etc issues. They could get away with that when Jimmy was leading the franchise because he knew how to deal with them and had 100% power to deal with them as he wished. Now everyone knows they can go straight to Jerry's office and make excuses or whatever and Jerry will let them off the hook.
