In the future, when I see "Jerry" and "pull the plug" in the title of a thread, he better be in a hospital bed.

I think this is unquestionably a given at this point. No way could Jerry justify bringing him back again with another failure of a season, regardless of how many players we might lose to injury or suspension.

I didn't think Jerry could justify bringing him back after that 4-12 cratering.

I didn't think Jerry could justify bringing him back after last season.

Jerry has become so contrarian that I'm not sure Garrett gets fired after an 0-16.

Ole Jerry boy is stubborn when it comes to things he has invested his own integrity in. I mean, look at the players he has stuck with for years when they didn't pan out.

Just be glad he was talked out of Johnny Football. Otherwise he’d still be our QB

Yeah. But, remember its Jerry. He should have been gone a long time ago.

Yep. I think most good owner/GM's would have let him go after that second straight 8-8 season, and would have certainly canned him after the third straight 8-8 we had where each season culminated in a loss in a win or go home game to make playoffs.

Actually he probably wouldn't be. Here in Dallas dude would have went crazy off the field (hell he was doing it where he was anyway) and he would have been suspended multiple times.

Sad, but probably true

I doubt any other owner/GMs would have hired the noob to being with until after he had proven himself in high school, and college coaching. Well, except for the Browns, who appear to be taking on the challenge of out-clowning the Jones boys.

Ever think how different our lives would be if the GM's mom would have given his dad a hummer like he wanted? #ITSOURANNIVERSARY

I'm surprised Garrett still here ,too. Didn't jerry fire Chan gailey after the cowboys went 8-8 for consecutive seasons?

Jerry claims he fired Gailey too soon. I disagree. Gailey sucked ass, and the plug should have been pulled. Even when Jerry gets one right he later gets it wrong.

In this era of the NFL we have plenty of case studies. You definitely fire a coach who doesn't turn the franchise around immediately. Keep hiring till you find the right guy, and you will know it most definitely as the team will improve dramatically.

Yes. Yes you can, and should keep cycling through coaches until you land on the right guy. There is no realistic penalty to doing so, and you will be rewarded sooner, rather than later when your franchise turns around practically overnight. This has been demonstrated to be the new paradigm many times now. People advocating continuity are living in the past.

Gailey got a fading franchise to the playoffs twice, which is more than Campo can say. I was excited by his four-wide WR sets (and importing Ernie Mills), but Aikman's broken collarbone and Irvin's premature retirement pretty much doomed those seasons.

Irvin retiring had nothing to do with the dipshit coach pulling him off the field on obvious passing downs (which happened a ton in 1998 and before he got hurt in 1999). Gailey coined the "we need WR's that can block first" line and it showed by having absolutely wastes of time like Billy Davis and Jeff Ogden on the field.
