As an aside, you're far less likely to blow out your knee running sprints than you are playing basketball. Anytime you're moving side to side, you're at increased risk of a knee injury. The stopping, starting, zig zag, change of direction, all very hard on your joints.

Football related drills, yes. Running sprints, no.

I think if you're a Cowboys player, you should be cryogenically frozen during the offseason, and only defrosted in time for training camp.

It's safer.

I'm sure most skilled position players in the NFL(and other leagues) play B-ball to stay in shape.(I played lunchtime ball with a few in Phoenix) It helps with the cardio and it's hard to get hurt unless your playing with a bunch of scrubs with no body control....

Romo does it. Irvin did it. Deion Sanders and T.O. as well.

Idiotic.

You can blow your knee out playing basketball without anyone ever touching you.

You can do that just getting out of bed as well. More players proba bly blew out their knees playing football without anyone ever touching them.

How many times do you see a football player blow out a knee just making a cut on the field?

The same thing happens in basketball. Why risk it? It doesn't make any sense.

Jamal Anderson of the Falcons of the Dirty Bird dance fame. I think Gayle Sayers did the same. Not sure.

I remember that fag Grammatica brother blowing out his knee celebrating a 25 yd field goal. I'll look it up.

Oh here it is.

Sorry, 43 yards out. Still routine for a kicker.

Moron, I was making a point that it does happen in football with no contact. And does happen in basketball as well.

You thought you were clever. Turns out you're still black.

It's more stupid to worry about it so much like you do.

I don't worry about it. Which is why I've never brought it up in any other thread over this loooooong offseason.

But I do think the smart thing to do is to avoid putting your body at risk of injury.
