No lie, although USC is a gorgeous campus (most major universities are), it is not exactly located in the best part of town. Compared to where it was when I first got of the Army (1994) it is much cleaner and nicer now. A few blocks in and it looks like scenes out of Training Day. The Staples Center and USC's new Galen Center really has forced the city to clean up the area.

Virginia defintely has us beat there. Just not so much on the football field. I spent the better parts of 4 years in Virginia while in the Army and it a great state (commonwealth?). Then again, I was always coming back from places like Kuwait and Somalia so maybe it just felt that way.

If we're talking solely football, than this isn't even an argument. Our best alum is Tiki Barber so far and it doesn't look like Shaub is going to develop into the next Joe Montana anytime soon. USC is a nice school and they've moved up immensely in academic ranks lately, but overall UVA just drops a solid deuce on that university. I will say that UCLA is nicer overall than both UVA and USC because they're on par academically, and have everything else including a solid campus and good enough sports teams.

I can't think of a better school in the nation than UT Austin though when you consider hot girls, academics, sports, greek system, city, weather, and just overall college experience.

I've lived in Chandler for just a little over a year. Before that I have always lived in southern California minus the 4 years in the Army.

and yes Guadalupe gives me east LA flashbacks.

Longest anyone's gone before mentioning they were in the army.
