DeMarcus Ware: I'm a game-time call

IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys starting defensive end DeMarcus Ware said Thursday he's a game-time decision for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a thigh injury.

Ware, who hasn't practiced this week, plans to travel to the game and test his leg. Ware has done some light running while in rehab, including pushing off and doing some cutting.

"It's two times better than what it was," Ware said. "I do have some push. I actually have been running in the weight room. It's feeling pretty good to me personally."

Ware has never missed an NFL game since entering the league as a first-round draft pick in 2005. Ware did suffer a neck injury in a 2009 game against the San Diego Chargers where he was carried off the field.

There was a thought Ware would miss the next game that season at New Orleans but he recovered in time to play, although he didn't start.

"I know that I can get through injuries," Ware said. "You can never sway what [injury] is worse than the other. Each week, like I took with that injury, take that whole week and make a game-day decision."

Sources told ESPN earlier this week that Ware could miss three-to-four weeks, but the defensive end dismissed that timetable for his injury.

"No, I'm not going to be out three or four weeks," he said. "I don't know where that came from. Somebody said it. I know my recovery is pretty fast and I'm feeling pretty good today.

Can't believe this guy. NEVER missing a game. Productive all the time. What a gift from parcells. Pretty soon we aren't gonna have these stalwarts

We tried Daleroy Stalwart, and he didn't work out well at all. From that, I'd rather not have the stalwarts.

DeMarcus Ware declares himself a game-time decision
By Kevin Patra
Around the League writer

Dallas Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Ware still won't give up hope that he could face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, despite dealing with a thigh injury that could have him out three to four weeks.

Ware declared himself a game-time decision, even though he hasn't practiced at all this week, and will fly with the team to Philadelphia. Ware reiterated his superhuman healing abilities and dismissed the reported time frame for his return.

"I'm not going to be out three or four weeks," Ware said, per the team's official website. "I don't know where that came from, but somebody said it. My recovery's pretty fast, and I'm feeling pretty good today."

Ware's confidence in his ability to heal is admirable and if he can be close to 100 percent then he should be on the field. However, if he is at something like 42 percent it's not worth prolonging a nagging injury to have him play this week.

The Cowboys could use Ware's rush against Nick Foles and the Eagles offense, but not at the expense of a healthier Ware down the road. We'll find out on today's injury report whether the team will keep the door open for Ware to play this week or not.

We need someone to get stonewalled all game and jump offsides on 3rd and short.

We really missed that last week against Washington.

I'm skeptical. I honestly don't believe a fucking thing this team says about injuries.

All these mind games that Red plays must really get under the skin of the opposition. He's such a fucking mastermind. I'm sure opposing offenses would be completely fucked if they prepared for one of the best pass rushers in the NFL and the guy ended up sitting out.

Honestly though, what could they do? How would they ever adjust to not having to play against one of the best pass rushers on game day?

Genius in its purest form. Complete psychological warfare and Dallas is carpet bombing the NFL.

This team just has the league by the balls and Dallas is twisting, stabbing and raking those testes into a bloody mess.

If Ware plays, he's gonna kick their ass.

If Ware doesn't play the opposing offense will have devoted so much time to preparing for a great player that they'll be completely caught off guard by the lesser guy who comes in and proceeds to kick their ass.

I'm quite certain that Dallas has the Eagles so cognitively ass raped right now that if Dallas were to field 10 guys and line up without a person in Ware's spot, the Eagles would retreat to their own endzone and take the safety.
