I mean, are people really content with going with Doug Free as the future at LT?
lol
He's not an elite pass blocker and he can't run block worth a shat. He can get to the 2nd level and maul a DB. I'll give him that. But you're talking about one of the key positions on any team with a right handed QB. Free has journeyman type ability.
He's been vastly overrated by fans who have been so beaten down over the years with complete scrubs along that line that they've latched on to one who actually belongs on an NFL roster.
Doesn't make him franchise LT worthy. It's laughable and embarrassing that this marginal talent is the guy we seem to believe should block our QB's blindside for the forseeable future.
Only in Dallas with the oil salesman running things.
lol lol lol
I swear, every single time someone wanted to crown that guy all offseason, that was the moment they supported their opinion with.
So the guy ran down field and blocked someone? Good for him.
I agree, I want to get better at LT before he gets paid like a LT. Where me and you disagree is I think he would do fine on the right side. His run blocking is just as bad as any other player across the line, so there's still that. I think he could hold his own until they can find a better option. They can't replace all 5 starters in one year.
To be honest, I'd really like to see a new O-line coach get ahold of him before I said throw him away.
He's the best of the worst on the line right now, people have to take that into account when watching him.
