Yeah... It was actually all THAT DEFENSE.
McCarthy is an offensive guy, so that's why I said Rodgers. Either way, people are giving McCarthy way too much credit with the "he's a Super Bowl winning coach" line.

If McCarthy is bullshitting then that would be evidence that he is NOT the right man for the job. He has no contract. What does he have to lose by telling the truth?

If he is lying then he is not the right man for the job.

If I were in his shoes and Jerry was the problem, I'd just say so. He has millions. He is a respected HC. He'll get another job someplace, even if it is at the college level. But again, he is rich. He doesn't need to work.

So what is he afraid of? Would he be blackballed by Jerry? Does Jerry have that much power?

Doesn’t matter who we draft… doesn’t matter who coaches the team, as long as Jerruh Jones is the GM we are going nowhere ever! This is an indisputable fact!

looks like belichick is going to coach at UNC
One clown online jumped the gun yesterday and claimed it was a "done deal" and nobody else has reported it or confirmed it. Nothing has changed, so far he just interviewed with them.

radio this morning said that UNC has an offer on the table and belichick is close to signing

they are hashing out whatever they need to hash out

i saw that he's asked for his kid to take over as head coach once he's done

Really surprised if he goes through with this, just don't see him being fit for college ball, especially at his age.

If it happens then it is most likely saying that he has heard (prob directly) that nobody in the NFL is going to hire him, incl Dallas.

I dont know why, but I have this suspicion that it will be someone like Lincoln Riley.

Dumbshit GM has been infatuated with him for years. He's proven he can't win big, his teams don't tackle or play defense and USC probably wants to get rid of him and avoid the buyout.

I'm sure the loser fucking QB will campaign for Kellen Moore, but Jones might pull the trigger on Riley because in his mind he thinks he'll be pulling one over on everyone.

Either way we're probably fucked.

It looks like the dream of having Belichick come here to establish a real football culture that is interested in winning Super Bowls over selling tickets is dead!

Based on Jerry's comments, there's a good chance McCarthy will be back. I'm hoping McCarthy doesn't want to come back.

Thank goodness that at my age I am no longer invested in the Cowboys as I used to be. Now it's just something to pass the time while I grade.

Even Bryan Broaddus was saying that McCarthy absolutely sucks as a play caller.

Oh, and BTW, I love how all these GMs and owners apparently don't want to hire Belichick, but meanwhile these GMs and owners haven't won diddly squat. Somehow, they know how to do it better. You simply do not luck your way into that many SBs. You luck into maybe one, like McCarthy and Doug Pederson did.

Oh well....

Maybe. I know you said McCarthy sold his home, but there could be other reasons for that, like he is positioning himself just in case, not so much because it's a done deal. I'm hoping that maybe a team like the Jets makes McCarthy a deal he can't refuse and that maybe Rodgers stays with the Jets and that is an enticement.

Personally, I think it would be great if McCarthy is the one who says no, which means he'd be giving Jerry the finger.

I'd consider that a win-win situation.

Jones gets embarrassed and we get rid of a coach who has proven he can't win big here.

Jerry's silence speaks loudly! Jerry is not interested in giving up any power. Two years in a row now he has had the chance to bring in Belichick. How can he do worse?

I don't know for sure, but I think Belichick had more power in NE than Parcells ever did at any stop. Belichick would have shown Jerry his 400 page "this is how we are going to do it" book and Jerry would have bailed.

People make way too much out of going 12-4. Not all records are created equal. The reason Dallas has gotten slaughtered by the better teams is simple. They aren't as good as their 12-4 record suggests.
