Couple of notes:
  • Eagles are going to be a bad team, as their record indicates. Yet they start 2-0, including a big win at Washington. We've seen a trend of young college coaches coming into the league and getting off to fast starts in recent years. I think that continues briefly until film is generated on the Eagles offense/Vick gets injured/people realize Chip Kelly isn't that good of a coach.
  • I have Dallas winning the week 1 game, but I could see it going the other way, where Dallas loses week 1 and wins in New York. They play us better in Dallas, and we play them better in New York. But I kind of feel like this team and offense will come out strong to start the year. Beating the Giants week 1 back to back years would be nice.
  • I'm not buying the Redskins as a legit contender this year. People forget they were 3-6 at one point last year before an incredible rally. And they've had no cap room and limited draft picks to address flaws on their team. Now, NFL teams have a years worth of film on the Read Option, and RG3 is coming off a catastrophic knee injury. Just when exactly will he be healthy? When will he have confidence in his legs again? And can he go the entire year without re-injuring a knee thats been surgically reconstructed twice? Because for all the "All In for Week One" hype, I don't see him playing in that game. Or the next one.
  • New York is the team I have the least comfortable read on going into this year. I do think David Wilson will be a stud running back. I do think JPP will return to form. But Justin Tuck seems borderline washed up, and DL has overall gone from a strength in recent years to a question mark. Also not a believer in their secondary.
  • The homer in me is showing as I have us winning the division. I think we will. I think Romo has his best year to date. I like our RB depth. I love our skill positions depth. Sure, I'd like more along the lines, and ultimately thats where games are won. But I also think Ware and Spencer will be effective, Ratliff will do well, and I think Frederick proves a lot of draft analysts who panned the selection wrong. I'm actually pretty excited about this season. Also, Dez Bryant is going to do humiliate a lot of corners.

A tad early for predictions. We could get slaughtered by injuries in camp or pre-season. Nor would I write off the Eagles just because they have a new coach and system. We could easily drop both games to them if their personnel is healthy.

I can't tell you how happy it would make me to see the Redskins with a healthy RG3 go about 6-10.

We are basically bringing back 19 of 22 starters from an 8-8 team. We have a lot of the same holes we did last year (weak Guards, question marks at Safety, defensive line depth). Jason sounds like is still kind of running the offense.

Still, I believe in Romo and our offensive weapons. I think Carter, Lee, Ware, Carr, and Claiborne are upper level to elite caliber defenders. We have a pretty solid kicker as well.

I think we have to stay incredibly healthy to win the East. The overall defensive speed has to improve or Chip Kelly and RG3 are going to make us look silly.

Hard to say. Too many question marks. I'm going to go full Midswat and say we will win the division untl this team proves to me they aren't ready to compete.

I kind of feel like we are in a no-lose situation this year. Garrett either gets a playoff victory or we get Gruden. (Unless some sort of tragedy motivates the Cowboys to win a who cares game against the Raiders and save Garrett again. Then we all lose).

If we stay healthy, then you can't dismiss how much better we'll be with Lee and Carter together for the majority of games. Having Church back will help, moreso than the guys we were forced to play last year.

Can't count on Murray, per se... but the offense was a different animal when he was in the game. And now it looks like we have a valid replacement if he goes down.

We almost won the division last year with a mash unit.

Last season was the worst season as far as injuries go that I think I've ever witnessed. No way that shit happens two years in a row.

I don't even think we need to stay really healthy we just have to avoid losing half our team again.

I am excited for this season. I think we have a good team.

I hate the Tampa 2 defense, but we have the critical parts at end and at linebacker...

We are going to have to manage two spots on defense and two on offense. I think that is a big positive over previous years where we have been trying to hide some poor players.....

Starting and finishing at home is huge to me also. If we stay relatively healthy we should have a very good football team. I think or offense is going to be pretty damn good, we have an excellent kicker and an excellent punt returner. If the defense is just not terrible for a change we will be in the mix.

I heard blowhard mike fisher this morning say that Frederick is already a vocal leader on the field and was the guy getting everyone together....

We ended the year with good camraderie, it's a big part of the whole thing so to hear Frederick is one of these types of guys that is a good sign.

I have ignored football all offseason and the time has flown by...six more weeks til camp....that is nothing.

I don't hate it but I do wish we had Lovie Smith running it instead of decade-past-his-prime Kiffin.

I take it you are talking about the Guards on Offense? It's amazing to me that we don't bring in a guy like Brandon Moore and tell the other 2 guys they are on notice. He is just sitting out there and with his age, it's not like we have to make a huge, long-term investment.

On defense are you saying both Safety spots?

Starting and finishing at home is huge to me also.
It's been a while. I hope we can make good on what is finally an advantageous schedule for us.

Good news. I just wish he didn't have weak spots on both sides of him.

Good strategy, wish I had that ability in me. Sad news is for the most part, so did our GM. Justin Durant & Will Allen in free agency what not enough. It shows me he stilllll can not accurately assess this roster.

The two spots on defense to me are the safety position opposite church and the 1 technique tackle.

On offense it's right tackle and one of the guard spots. I think guard might be fine. With the numbers we are throwing at it this summer i think it will be fine. Playing the 12 will help the tackle spot also.

If healthy this is a good team.

He was constantly outmatched and unprepared for the spread offenses he faced the last 2 years. I think the game has become too fast, too complex, and has passed him up.

Not liking his chances against Philadelphia, New Orleans, Green Bay, and if we face them in the playoffs, San Francisco. Those were exactly the types of offenses that killed him at USC. The worst part is he pretty much put his hands up when it happened. He didn't work on adjusting, he would just say things like I hope we don't face any more offenses like that.

Not a lot of confidence in him.
