I mean, I know he sucked compared to NFL starting safeties. But was he making a stink in the locker room because of the demotion?

I don't understand any other reason you cut a guy who was brought in as a veteran to try to help the young guys move along. His salary was already guaranteed, so we didn't save any money. Now Wilcox and Church are hurt, and instead of bringing Allen in to try to stop the bleeding, we got Heath (who showed flashes Sunday) and Jakar Hamilton. What happens if/when one of those guys, who have 1.25 NFL games of experience between them, go down?

Is Allen not still on the Steelers?

I dunno, this one doesn't bother me. He was pretty terrible. I don't think he'd have been a bit better than Heath, and maybe worse.

Exactly.

It's sad that some have come to yearn for even the shittiest of players.

If you're not a WR, then jerrah ain't got time for all that noise...

We've made a jillion mistakes at the safety position since Woodson retired. They all fall at the feet of the GM.

I'm hardly lamenting the cutting of Will Allen though.

Now, signing Allen thinking he'd offer anything in the way of quality safety play to begin with? Yeah, theres that.

OK, forget about Allen...

I'm excited about Heath and Hamilton!

Good grief. Talking about bitching over nothing.

Will Allen is hardly worth 5 seconds of discussion. Letting go a guy who clearly wasnt a very good player isnt cause to bitch pepgirl.

I wouldn't necessarily be against finding some vet, though. We might have too much youth back there now with Wilcox (when he comes back), Heath, and now Hamilton. Three out of four rookies is a lot.

They probably should've done that before they called Hamilton up, though. Not sure, maybe no one is out there.

Lol, no shit. Go young and see if anyone steps up, the sooner we know about these young guys the better. Barring some kind of miracle this team ain't going anywhere this year and Will Allen isn't in their future, so no loss here, imo
