Rams signed S Eric Weddle to a two-year, $10.5 million contract.

That escalated quickly. Weddle was just reported to be visiting the Rams on Friday afternoon, and a deal was announced just over an hour later. The move makes sense for Weddle, who lives in Southern California and was almost certainly looking to join a contender at this stage in his career. It also makes sense for the Rams with LaMarcus Joyner headed to free agency. Weddle should slide right into Joyner's spot on defense moving forward.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Martellus Bennett wants to come out of retirement to join his brother on the Patriots.

Michael Bennett was traded to New England on Friday. Martellus spent 2016 and part of 2017 with the Patriots before retiring last spring. The tight end looked nearly done his final year in the league, but it is possible injury had a lot to do with that. Even if Rob Gronkowski returns, the Patriots could use some help at tight end. It would not be shocking if this happens.

Dolphins released Danny Amendola.

Amendola's future has been up in the air all offseason, but the Dolphins finally made the decision to cut ties on Friday. DeVante Parker's release should follow in short order, leaving Miami with Kenny Stills, Albert Wilson, and not much else on the depth chart. Amendola caught 59 passes for 575 yards and a touchdown his one season in Miami. The 33-year-old should latch on with a contender if he wants to continue his career.

I've got a feeling that this will be his final season in NE. Usually that big a dip he'd be out the door already. His Super Bowl probably saved his ass...
