We all have our tempers when it comes to Jerry. But sometimes we forget that he does do some phenomenal work. The past 2 years draft put together a well balanced franchise.

We are now a year & a half removed from that Gregory transaction, & it looks more & more like Jerry's organization knew what it was doing, again!

Randy Gregory & Jaylon Smith= busts

I guess you forgot that Jerry and his spawn had an agreement with Gregory for big money before he backed out and went to Denver. Jerry got lucky....he wasn't smart.

That's not entirely true, Jerry was actually pissed because Spawn and some others wrote the personal conduct contingencies into the deal without his knowledge, and when Gregory's agent saw it they balked and got Denver to do a deal without the same language.

Jerry 100% wanted Gregory to re-sign and if he would have had his druthers he probably would have removed the language.

Somebody put the personal conduct language into Gregory's deal.

Supposedly (according to reports) it was put in without Jerry's knowledge and he was pissed about it. Spawn was on the radio a day or two after it happened and said the language Gregory's agent didnt like was also in his original rookie deal and noted that virtually every contract Dallas had in place, had the same language in it.

Gregory's agent publicly said they took the exact same deal from Denver that Dallas offered, only Denver didnt include the personal conduct stuff in it.

The only problem with that theory is that Jerry did try to sign Gregory. He had the contract on the table and ready to sign that morning. But Gregory opted to sign a similar deal with the broncos later that same day.

So Jerry wasn’t the “smart guy” in the room. He just lucked out and Gregory signed elsewhere for the same money.

He signed for the exact same money, but he chose Denver because Dallas' deal had the personal conduct language in it and Denver's did not.

Jerry was supposedly furious about it, then a day or two later Stevie and McClay noted that Gregory's rookie deal had the same language in it and also noted that virtually every Dallas contract is like that.
