@JosinaAnderson: Former Broncos DE Jarvis Moss told me he's scheduled to workout with the Cowboys today. Already in town.

---

I remember him being a highly regarded athletic DE in the draft.

That was years ago, and he was out of football last year. Only had 6 sacks in 5 years. Spent some time at OLB.

Probably nothing will come from this, but I've always been a big fan of taking a look at former high draft pick "busts."

“@bgcamp237: @BryanBroaddus heard cowboys are looking at Jarvis Moss, thoughts on him?” He is working out today.

He had alot of off field issues IIRC

According to my sources (wikipedia)... he was suspended once in college. That was it.

Broke his shin (ouch) and went to IR I think his rookie year. Contemplated retirement when Nolan wanted to move him from DE to OLB.

Hillarious thing is, I remember there being Ware comparisons heading in that draft.

Eh. This is the time of year to kick the tires on some guys

Spencer or no Spencer, I don't see much depth at DE

No. Move on.

6 sacks in 5 years should be all the red flags you need.

If there is a draft bust to be had it seems Jerry is always around to try and resurrect their career.

let's see who are our other DE's on the roster besides Ware and Spencer?

Tyrone Crawford (if he didn't overgrow the position), Kyle Wilber, Alex Albright maybe, and someone named Ikponmwosa Igbinosun, so I'm all for adding the 28-year old, 6'7", 280 pound former first round pick (17th overall). Plus, I'd rather sign him now then in the middle of the season once Ikponmwosa Igbinosun has shown he can't be counted on.

LDE in Kiffin's scheme seems ideal for Moss, assuming he is ready to show up every day. Being let go twice might be the humbling experience that will lead to Moss working hard and living up to his college potential.

Doesn't sound like Jarvis Moss, who worked out today, will be brought on right now.

As if Ernie Sims hasn't taught us anything.

Yeah nothing wrong with signing him to a 1yr deal if he works out well. Maybe he'll be motivated and really take to Marinelli's coaching on DL.

Broaddus: Jarvis Moss Unlikely To Sign After Workout Wed.

Posted 3 hours ago

Bryan Broaddus Football Analyst/Scout

IRVING, Texas – This time of the year isn’t just all about the college pro days, but it’s the opportunity for the Cowboys’ pro scouts to kick the tires on some players that might add depth to the roster where they might be a little thin.

On Wednesday, they did just that in working out former first round selection of the Broncos, Jarvis Moss. A local product, Moss had bounced around to a couple of different clubs before sitting out the 2012 NFL season.

In a report from the workout, the word that describes how it went was “decent,” which is scout lingo for, “We’re glad you came in, but we are going to keep hunting for players.” We all remember how this pro department responded last season when injuries put this club in a terrible place, but they were able to add several bodies that kept the season from totally falling apart.

When free agency opens March 12, this group will have to be at their very best once again, because money will be tight, but it’s a challenge they should welcome.

If last season is any indication, it’s possible Moss could get a call later in the year to adjust for injuries. Moss played in only 25 games for the Broncos after getting selected in the first round in 2007. He played in 12 games in 2008, registering a career-high 2.5 sacks that season.

Moss was released by Denver midway through the 2010 season, when the Raiders brought him on to play defensive end. He became a free agent after playing in 14 games and registering 1.5 sacks his 2011 season in Oakland.

The Denton native is now 28 years old and has six career NFL sacks.
