Just my thought, I think they stay in the base 3-4 but look at ways to play better in the 4-3 when they go to nickel. Use as change up.

With our personel why not. Let Ware rush all game instead of dropping into coverage. Go get Osi! This would make Ratliff instantly a more dominant player.

I love was the 3-4 but it's not been efficient the last few years...

I have never been one of those let's go back to the 4-3 guys but it's become painfully obvious we have to try something different.

Von Miller did just fine as a Strong-side OLB. Maybe we could save Ware some wear and tear AND help our D at the same time.

Sign Osi to start at one of the DE spots.

Von Miller was a raw DE/LB hybrid in college that did it just fine. I'm assuming Ware can do so just as easily. Moreso even.

No. But making him ANY linebacker in a 4-3 is straight up retarded. Do you understand the responsibilities of a 4-3 LBer? Rushing the passer is not one of them, unless it is a blitz. So yeah, taking your best pass rusher (not to mention, one of the best in the league) and making him a part time blitzer is insanely stupid.

Just throwing it out there for those scared of Ware getting hurt if he has to play DE in the 4-3.

But a blitz is most effective if an offense doesn't know where it's coming from.

So asking Ware to play OLB in a 4/3 with the intent of having him rush the QB every down (a) reduces the effectiveness of the blitz (b) makes an easy to exploit whole in the defense.

The 3-4 doesn't disguise the blitz from the OLB.

And of course you don't blitz every down from a 4-3 set. But Ware didn't blitz every down when he played in Parcells' 3-4 either.

Again like I said some posts back, different coordinators run their own brand of 3-4 or 4-3. Some blitz more than others, some play more zone, etc.
