IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys defensive end Edgar Jones will not be activated off the injured reserve/designated to return list this week, but he could return to game action Dec. 15 against the Green Bay Packers.

Jones was placed on the short-term IR list Oct. 18 after after undergoing sports hernia surgery. Jones has stepped up his rehab in recent weeks, but the Cowboys can be patient with his return. The team has three weeks to activate him off the list and two weeks before they would have to put him on the 53-man roster.

The Cowboys would have to make a spot before Jones could return to the active roster.

Jones has not played since Sept. 29 against the Denver Broncos. He had five tackles, three quarterback pressures and a pass deflection in the first five games. He also had four special teams tackles.

Yeah... don't want to rush a stud player like this back from injury.

We could probably use his 1 tackle a game down the stretch.

No seriously who the fuck is this guy????

We'll need him against the Packers while whoever they have playing quarterback is carving up Brandon Carr.

I'm guessing that spot they have to free up is probably a better player, they're waiting for a season ending injury so they don't lose one of those "studs"...

Definitely too valuable to rush back unless he's 100%

I bet other teams are definitely losing sleep over him being on the field though.
