McClain has a different set of standards written in to his contract.

It's hilarious so many people are defending him on the boards. So what's his excuse going to be during the season when he's sitting out practice after practice? Such a great dad that he needs to save all his energy to play with his kids?

Exactly. The long thread where CZ is making him Father of the Year because he hates practice is hilarious.

I guess everyone would be fine if the whole teams skips these OTAs. I mean they're voluntary, after all.

I'm on the fence with McClain. He's got lots of issues. Clearly he's not dependable. He hasn't lived up to his potential, obviously.

A year from now, if Jaylon Smith appears to be ready to play, there wouldn't be a need for McClain.

But for the current year, as a stop gap, McClain is pretty good, at least some of the time, isn't he? Even with all of his baggage, isn't the team (somewhat) better off keeping McClain around for the upcoming season?

It strikes me that this is one of the many problems with the organization and those that run it. They seem to always have to rely on some unreliable schmuck like Rolando, et al because they are incapable of developing lesser talent and building a team that can compete at the highest levels.

It seems to me they have to bring in an element of gamble every season and I think that's directly attributed to jerri because that's his nature and I suspect he also likes to do this so he can crow about it later if the miracle ever happens and they win a SB.

Having said this, they probably have to do this with the dipshit owner because of his many deficiencies and they're going to have to basically win the lotto to ever win a SB under jerri so I suspect he believes guys like this are the winning ticket.

Seemed like we had no trouble at all getting along without him didn't it?

McClain had our lone defensive touchdown last year.
Wait,McClain had our lone return touchdown last year.
Dammit,McClain was a big part of snapping our 7 game losing streak.
So,yeah McClain had that one play.

Seriously sometimes you see the guy make a play and think "So that's why the Cowboys like him".
Then you realize in two seasons he's got 3 picks,3 sacks, averaged 58.5 tackles & 25 assists and managed to appear in 24 out of 32 games. Then you wonder "Why do the Cowboys like him?"

Yeah I kinda doubt he pulls this crap with Belicheat, or Landry, or Parcells, or Jimmy, or any real friggin' coach.

Yeah ol'BB would never let a player openly gang bang and kill a couple people, Landry would never let a player like Hollywood sit in a limo snorting coke and watching the team practice, Parcells would never let two players run off to Mexico before a playoff game and Jimmy would never allow players to have a house by VR to run whores and coke.

Yeah boy, we need those disciplinarians....lol

The consistent thing about Garrett supporters is that they are all fucking idiots, so little things like facts don't seem to matter to them.

Too lazy to read around and see what's actually up. Too dumb to understand what they read anyway. And too young and ignorant to have ever experienced any success with their chosen team. (They actually believe a playoff season is "success" in Dallas.)

Ignorance certainly is bliss though, they prove that daily.

Neither coach knew anything about those activities, unlike Ginger with McClain. Of course the only way the Garrett apologists can function is to make false comparisons.

Sure thing, keep living in a fantasy world where we know things the coaches don't...lol

Ahhh, CountEm. This is so easy... If your fantasy boy Garrett knows so much how is it he's only managed one total winning season in his entire coaching career?

Interim season doesn't count bubba as that was Wade's team.

He does know more than me, only problem is he doesn't know more than the 31 other guys that are official NFL head coaches...

Why did Bilichick have a losing record in Cle? Things happen with teams, injuries mainly...

Why did Bilichick have a losing record in Cle? Things happen with teams, injuries mainly...

Owner wasn't providing any support or resources to win. Wanted to relocate.

And if you read his book, Belichick openly acknowledges he made mistakes and Cleveland and took those lessons with him to New England.

Which goes to show... even a brilliant mind like Belichick who was a coach his entire professional career, who came up through the ranks and did it the right way - was a coordinator on a Super Bowl winning team... a former defensive coordinator who's game plan to beat the Bills in the Super Bowl is actually in the Hall of Fame... a coach with his skins on the wall, still had a lot to learn on how to coach in the NFL.

Meanwhile, Garrett was gifted a head coaching job after what, 5 years total coaching experience at any level?

No wonder why the guy struggles so much.
