He's a prospect in that he doesn't have much NCAA experience, and he hasn't played in over a year.

And he's a pothead.

How did vastly superior talents like Maurice Clarette or Mike Williams do after entering the NFL after just their sophmore year and sitting out a season? And they dominated. Gordon was just good.

Dez says hi

Still, Dez was a dominant receiver in college. He started to dominate his last year. While he only played three games, he was in on all the spring meetings and practices.

Gordon was just good.

Listen, I don't have a set in stone opinion on the guy. I haven't seen him play one time. If the team thinks he's worth a selection, I'll buy in based on their decent track record with receivers and supplemental success.

I'm just saying from the looks of it, it doesn't seem like good business. And I hate the weed arrest.

A source with knowledge of multiple teams' thinking tells Profootballtalk.com that Supplemental Draft prospect WR Josh Gordon has generated a third-round grade from at least one NFC team.
The source added that high-ranking people at Baylor believed Gordon was a superior prospect to Titans first-round pick Kendall Wright during both receivers' time in Waco. Gordon managed just 43 receptions in college, but averaged 17 yards per catch in his lone full year at Baylor. Teams are "enamored" with his size and speed, and he looks destined for the early rounds of Thursday's draft.

hope this isnt the Cowboys

Cowboys employ Art Briles' daughter, Jancy. Art Briles coached Josh Gordon. Briles and Gordon have the same agent. We'll see what happens

The Cowboys say they like the wide receivers they have battling for the No. 3 spot.

But do they like them enough to pass on former Baylor wide receiver Josh Gordon?

Gordon will be available to the highest bidder in Thursday’s supplemental draft and the Cowboys could make a bid.

An NFL scout recently told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Gordon could be selected as high as the second round. The supplemental draft hasn’t had a player selected that high since 2003 when running back Tony Hollings went to the Houston Texans in Round Two.

The Oakland Raiders used a third-round pick last year on quarterback Terrelle Pryor. The Cowboys used a seventh-rounder on nose tackle Josh Brent in 2010.

In a Monday tweet, Schefter listed the Cowboys as one of at least seven teams that figure to be interested in the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder with 4.4-speed in the 40-yard dash.

FOXSportsSouthwest.com’s Matt Mosley tweeted Monday that the Cowboys will have a representative at Gordon’s workout Tuesday in Houston.

“They have done their homework on the former Baylor WR,” Mosley added.

Danny Coale, Dwayne Harris, Andre Holmes, Kevin Ogletree and Raymond Radway are currently the receivers battling for the No. 3 spot. However, Ogletree is the only one that has recorded a grab in an NFL game and Coale missed the majority of organized team activities and mini-camp because of a broken foot.

Even if the Cowboys don’t draft Gordon they could attempt to fill the No. 3 spot by signing a veteran in the next few months.

Gordon, who didn’t play last season after being dismissed from the Bears after an arrest for marijuana possession, caught 42 passes for 714 yards and seven touchdowns in 2010.

I'd have no problem if Dallas drafted Josh Gordon in the supplemental draft. However, I would not take him till the 4th round.

@nfldraftupdate
Likely explanation for disappointing 4.52 time: former #Baylor WR Josh Gordon pulled a quad during his 40-yard dash, per @TonyPauline.

‏@TonyPauline
Results from Josh Gordon pro-day: 6031/224lbs...36" vert, 10'-1" broad..13 reps on bench...4.52/forty but pulled/hurt quad during the run..

Those 40 times will make him a 4th rounder at best. There's no way we invest a second rounder on a 4.5 guy regardless of the pulled quad.

Speaking to physical numbers, ex-#Baylor WR Josh Gordon has passed every test with flying colors. 4.52 time only blemish on a great pro day.

I dont know much about him. If he's cleaned himself up, maybe he's worth investing a 3rd in. I wouldnt do a 2nd. 4th seems about right, but so many other teams might invest the 3rd or early 4th that we almost assuredly wouldnt get him.

Bryan broaddus was just on the radio and said Dallas does like him and will put in a pick, but he said the general feeling is Baylor alum Jeff Ireland in Miami loves him and Miami is going to end up with him.

Awww, preemptive Jerry support in case we draft him.

You usually have zero tolerance for players with a drug history.

I dont know much about his history, what did he do exactly? Is he an idiot or is this similar to the Baccari Rambo situation?

What?

If he is anything like Rambo, we should sign him for a 1.

Rambo kicks ass, I have seen him single handedly refight and win in Vietnam and stop the Russians cold.

And I think he made Brian dennehy shit his pants also.

Talk about leaders, if DEz is late to meetings this yearhe would have to deal with Rambo.

For those who missed it, my prediction is former #Baylor WR Josh Gordon goes in Round 5 to the #Cowboys in today's Supplemental Draft.

@RobRang: Gordon consensus: he's been overhyped a bit. Scouts acknowledge upside but don't trust. Most feel rd 4-5.

‏@RobRang
In final 4 regular season games against top conference foes - Texas, Okla, OK ST and A&M - Gordon caught a total of 10 passes for 100 yards.

‏@RobRang
Biggest misconception w/ Gordon may be production at Baylor. All 7 TDs in 2010 came against weak competition in mid-season span of 6 games.

‏@RobRang
League sources asked in past 24 hours to project Josh Gordon in supp today ranged from the #Dolphins in 3rd round to the #Redskins in 5th.
