or the infamous Jeff Ogden...a talent so elite that Chan Gailey believed having him on the field instead of Michael Irvin on passing downs was a smart thing

No love for Scott Akrom?

Lance Rentzel did have many good moments, but I was referring to something more troubling (re: Jon's comment).

David Douglas, an undrafted rookie receiver from Arizona, had some very good moments in training camp but he didn’t make the final cut. The Giants would love to put Douglas on the practice squad but he must clear waivers first and that might not happen. The Cowboys are rumored to have interest in Douglas. The Giants appear to be set with their six receivers: Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz, Jerrel Jernigan, Domenik Hixon, Ramses Barden and rookie Rueben Randle.

Funny, I was just watching some old TCU veer vids this morning. Ankrom had great speed, as did Donley. Nothing like these ham and eggers. (Of course Ankrom was a project converted QB who never did anything as a pro, but he was a great athlete.)

I think waiver claims wnt be announced till tonight.

I'm interested to see if we claim that chargers tight end sperry like broaddus said we would. For two weeks.

yep...if we make one or two moves the likely cuts IMO are McGee, Dockery or Arkin

i that is the group I would zap dockery.

I like having a third qb, doesnt haveto be mcgee but I think it is short sighted and ignorant to not have a third qb on the roster.

I agree, thats why I'm not complaining about McGee staying (if he does stay)

Just look at the last couple of seasons and see Houston and Chicago as examples of what can happen

Cowboys move back practice
September, 1, 2012
Sep 110:20AM CTBy Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com Recommend0Tweet2Comments0EmailPrintIRVING, Texas -- In order to have as close to a full practice squad as possible Saturday, the Cowboys have pushed back the start of practice to 11:45 a.m.

The Cowboys will find out shortly after 11 a.m. which players have cleared waivers and will return to the practice squad. The team would like to keep wide receiver Danny Coale, linebacker Adrian Hamilton, running backs Lance Dunbar and Jamize Olawale on the practice squad, among some of the other players that were cut Friday.

Practice had been scheduled to begin at 11:15 a.m.

If the Cowboys made waiver claims, then they will find out who they received at the same time and will have to make corresponding roster cuts.

Offensive lineman Ryan Cook, picked up in a trade on Friday from Miami, will be at practice.
