Jason Garrett at USC Pro Day
March, 30, 2011 6:50PM
By Calvin Watkins
According to SI.com, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett and offensive line coach and former USC assistant coach Hudson Houck, attended the USC Pro Day on Wednesday.
The big prize from USC is tackle Tyron Smith, who is projected as a Top 10 pick and some even have the Cowboys selecting him.
Here's SI's account of how Smith looked today.
NFL Draft Scout also has a report of what Smith did.
Smith's biggest issue is weight, he was about 285 in his last season at USC, but he weighed 310 at the Pro Day. Smith most likely will play right tackle if he's drafted by the Cowboys.
Doug Free, the starting left tackle, did play right tackle in 2009 when Marc Colombo was recovering from leg injuries and performed well. But Colombo is due a $2.6 million option bonus and after a below average 2010, it seems the Cowboys might seek a replacement.
It seems as if Smith is the guy, at least projected as the player now.
