Cowboys demanding accountability by taking players off the field; three starters have been replaced

The Cowboys have not been afraid to make lineup changes this season in an effort to but the best players on the field and demand accountability.

It started in the preseason when Cowboys coach Jason Garrett benched running back DeMarco Murray for a half after a fumble. The first four games have seen three difference players replaced in the starting lineup _ cornerback Morris Claiborne by Orlando Scandrick, safety Will Allen by J.J. Wilcox and guard Mackenzy Bernadeau by Brian Waters.

And last Sunday against the Chargers, linebacker Bruce Carter was benched in the second half after giving up two touchdown passes in pass coverage and losing confidence.

“I think we’ve always strived to make everybody feel accountable for what they’re doing around here and oftentimes competition allows you to do that better as a football coach and as a football staff,” Garrett said. “You look at the guys you have available to you and you make your best decision for your football team. And if you have guys who are competing for a spot and you can put the next guy in and he can be as good and maybe better than the guy who’s playing right now, you are more willing and able to do that. Hopefully the competition will bring out the best in both of those players who are competing for that spot and they’ll get better and you’ll consequently get better as a team.”

How many extra laps are they running after practice? 10, 15? I will guess none. Make them wear pink jerseys. Bunch of pussy cats.

It's not really accountability when Monte Kiffin says they didn't bench Carter for performance reasons, only to have Garrett say they did, a day later.

So we can expect less Williams?

2 redzone fuck ups in 4 games. The shitty route he ran against the Giants and the carelessness with the ball this week.

I look forward to more Beasley and Harris.

He was a 3rd round pick. A "wow" player instead of something we really needed. Jerry has used so many resources on wide recievers it's unreal. We needed help on the D Line. Fuck face drafts a 24 year old reciever in the 3rd round and then forces the coaches to throw to him.

There isn't a bigger circus in the leage than this team.

Yeah, I'm with you on this.

Unfortunately reports are that Harris is pretty banged up (hip and ankle) ... not enough to miss games, but enough to insure that Williams is going to get his snaps.

The other thing - It seems to me that the mindset on the Cowboys offense is to have WRs fit the offense instead of making a concerted effort to adjustithe offense to fit the strengths of individual WRs.

Williams is going through the same pains Dez did. Remember the Bears game?

Happens with young WRs.

That, and on TEs and CBs.

In todays society, leaders, and I use that term loosely, are rarely held accountable for their screw ups, lies, and failures.

Whatever success Terrance had in college has a mysterious translational loss to the NFL. Mike Williams from USC had the same although I still think that they both, along with Escobar, lack functional quickness and/or speed to continue their college production at the pro level. Terrance and Escobar are really the equivalent to the Apache Chief from DC Comics Justice League: their super power is just height, and only pedestrian athletic traits beyond that. So that leads to the question of what players on the Dallas offensive roster have exceptional or productively functional skllis that should be exploited (and maybe are not)?

In my opinion, it's Hanna. Even as a decoy he can help the offense, because other than Vernon Davis, who is a faster TE than Hanna (that is currently playing in the NFL)? It makes no sense to keep a mismatch like him on the bench because of a playbook or a system. Create some plays for him and use him.
