It would be a tough calll, but I'd have to go Brockers here. I like Poe and what he's done at the Combine, but Brockers can play DE in our 34 defense.

I know a lot of people think Spears when Brockers is mentioned anywhere, but Brockers is going to be a much better player IMO.

Now would I be upset if we took Poe over Brockers? No. I like Poe as well. That fucker can run at his weight. Reminds me of Haloti Ngata. He can cover some ground.

Goose - "I'd be surprised if the Cowboys DON'T go DL"

Goose believes we'll take a very hard look at taking Poe with our 1st pick. He said, this morning on The Ticket, that Poe will go between #8 - #18. He said Poe is a FREAK of an athlete, and is the best DL in the draft, and would be surprised if Dallas doesn't go DL at #14. Says, DeCastro is the safest pick in the draft, and will be a Pro-Bowler by his 2nd season. Says it would be a reach to draft a guard at #14 even if he's an elite guard. Says DL will go fast in draft, and we can get an OL in the 3rd or 4th rds. Says DL is a premium position and won't be around after the 1st rd. Dallas needs secondary help, but they can find guys at OL and DB later in the draft. If they want/need a DL man, they have to get them early in the draft. And, Poe should be there for them.

Goose reading my posts on the matter.

Horrid logic.

Don't get tied to the #14.

If you have a chance to draft the safest player, a guy described as a PB by his 2nd year, at a glaring need.... then take it, ffs.

All I know is DeCastro will be playing for 10 plus years, will Brockers or Poe?

Oh, wait....I'm guessing..

The whole notion that guards aren't glamorous enough for the top 15 is outdated itself.

Most blitz schemes are designed nowadays to bring pressure up the middle.

The draft is a crapshoot as it is. If you have the chance to take the best guard to come out in years, and solidify 2/5ths of your Oline for years, then do it.

How much better does DeCastro make Kowalski, or Romo. Imagine running behind DeCastro and Smith on short yardage situations?

Lock it up.

Lock it the fuck up.

Decastro wasn't a world beater guys.

He's a fucking rock, but he isn't ragdolling dudes. Glenn and konz were more impressive to me

I haven't really seen Poe, worthy, or still yet but I like what im reading about Poe.

Yeah, I don't know what you were watching. He consistently hit on his blocks at Stanford. I don't need him to blow people up on every play but effectively eliminating your man from making a play on the ball carrrier works for me.

There's also the need to next level block. Decastro can move just fine and do it but the longer you take farting around with your man the less time you have to get to a lb.

I'm not trying to be shockingly contrarian. He's a stud, but I think people are acting like he's Tyron and o don't see that ceiling.

He's safe as tits but Glenn has a chance to be better

re: Goose's opinion. That's a tough one.

Yes, DeCastro can be a John Hanna type OG and yes, we need a NT badly, and Poe could be a great one there.

But think, where is the value after the 1st round? It's pretty thin for NGs.

Plus also think, how many good teams are trotting out top 15 picks at OG? Not many.

Thank God Decastro can block so many guys at one time to deal with all those middle blitzes.

Lots of those guys available throughout the draft.

Let's not get too involved in this argument, guys. There's a good chance both won't be available at our pick lol
