You said Dallas has never been that type of offense, and yet despite all the shortcomings somehow they are right at the top in the things that matter on offense, moving the ball and scoring points.

I don't really get the "musical chairs" argument though. Tyron Smith started his career here at RT and played it again at the end of last yr. Tyler Smith was drafted to be the LT of the future and the future came from game one, and he looks like a 10+ year starter there. The same guy is at C, the same guy is at RG.

Steele is nowhere near as good as Tyron Smith and if Smith is healthy, it's a no brainer to leave him at RT. Steele shows some traits which might make him a pretty solid G, plus he is coming off a knee injury and it might be easier for him to play a position inside where there's more help. There's nothing wrong with trying him there if they believe he is definitely one of the 5 best OL.

DAL doesnt have shortcomings from playing musical chairs at OL, because DAL does not play musical chairs at OL. theyve been plugging in players at LG and then managing a fire drill every time tyron gets injuried

McCarthy is not Belichick (and not many are on his level, ever) but Solari is an outstanding OL coach and has developed strong OL's at a number of stops.

The Pats OL coach did a great job for a long, long time and sometimes made some lunch pail type guys into really solid starters. Solari though is very proven and actually has quite a bit of talent on this OL to work with, I'm not worried about the OL at all. In fact I believe it will be vastly improved this year.

Interesting, because when interviewed during the draft OL Mike Solari said Tyler Smith was going to saty at LT.

The Dallas Cowboys topped a new Forbes study of the world's most profitable sports teams over the past three years, pocketing a total of nearly $1.2 billion over that timespan. The Cowboys' operating income -- defined by Forbes as earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization -- was substantially greater than any other professional sports team, and far more than the New England Patriots in second at $623 million.

Forbes' list was compiled from data for NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL teams as well as professional soccer teams from around the globe. Forbes' data ends with the 2021 season for football, while all other leagues' data is through 2022.

The top 10 in Forbes' most profitable sports teams are as follows:

1. Dallas Cowboys - $1.171B
2. New England Patriots - $623M
3. Tottenham Hotspur - $414M
4. New York Knicks - $404M
5. Manchester United - $403M
6. Houston Texans - $356M
7. Golden State Warriors - $348M
8. New York Giants - $333M
9. Los Angeles Lakers - $333M
10. Manchester City - $329M
11. Los Angeles Rams - $318M

The top 25 in Forbes' study was comprised of 13 total teams from the NFL, followed by seven NBA teams, four English Premier League teams and one team (Bayern Munich) from Bundesliga. No MLB or NHL teams made the cut due to the way the COVID-19 pandemic devastated their live gate profits and the fact that those leagues' broadcasting deals are not as lucrative.


The Cowboys continue to be the NFL's richest team, a trend which began in 1989 when Jerry Jones purchased the team for a then-record $140 million. Although the Cowboys have not won a Super Bowl nor advanced to a conference championship since their win in Super Bowl XXX, they have remained extremely relevant thanks to a strong fanbase, media, and marketing presence as well as the fact that they have been a consistent playoff contender under Jones' ownership.

Here is the real problem. Based on the fact that Jerry is literally printing money, he likely has been pre paying the inheritance tax that will be due when he and Jean go toes up. Normally the enormous inheritance tax is what frees fans from god awful ownership because the kids cant afford it when they inherit the team. That is how the Rams fans finally got rid of Georgia and her kids. I dont think we are going to be that lucky and we will be stuck with Jones offspring long after I am gone.

Cooks is a nice addition for the cost. Leery about his concussion history though.

I'm going to say he remains healthy and plays in almost all of them this year.

The encouraging thing about him is his neck/back issues that plagued him for years seem to be fixed after that surgery he had a couple years ago.
