They had a formal meeting with Schmitz at the combine according to a report I saw.

Biadasz is in the final year of his contract, they may be thinking about letting him leave via FA next year.

That said, Biadasz was really improved last year.
He might've improved, but I still don't think he is good enough to get us where we want to be.

I could be wrong, but he doesn't seem to play with the leverage and technique of Stepnowski, or the power of Ray Donaldson, or Travis Frederick.

If we could somehow trade back just a little bit in round 1 and then trade up a little bit in round 2, we could get my OT and my C.

We all hate Philly, but they weren't afraid to make sure their OL is socked with their future Center.

And you or someone wrote that you weren't impressed with Jordan Davis, but I have a hunch he will be a pain in the ass for a long time.

i dunno if twitter is broken atm but the tweet below is about tony pollard being officially franchise tagged by DAL
Eh, the tag price isn't bad, so I'm not ticked about it, but I would have used it on say Donovan Wilson. All he does is make tackles.

Maybe the price for safety is too high for Jerry, or maybe they are thinking they can come to terms.

To me, it's a little bit like when the Jets used their franchise tag on Nick Folk (K) who, by the way, was available when we needed a kicker. Why did we never bring him back? Was he ticked off that we cut him after his injury and said I'll never play in Dallas again?

That's three of the best centers of their era's, most C's are nowhere near as good as those guys were.

Right, but if we can draft Schmitz, then there is a good chance we'll get back to that. I'm not about being average. I want to dominate. I think Jordan Davis is going to emerge. I see the Eagles with arguably the best center in the NFL, and they weren't afraid to use a second round pick on his successor.

When Cowboys fans were still throwing out the mantra "we have the best OL in the NFL". In reality, it was the Eagles who had a younger Jason Peters etcetera.

I'm paraphrasing Jimmy Johnson when he drafted a DT, when he was coaching the Dolphins, and they already had a very good DT, "Dare to be great".

Not disagreeing with on Schmitz, apparently some people believe he can play G too so you'd potentially plug him in there this year and move to C next yr. I'm down with that.

I'm not really worried about Jordan Davis though (even though I am the resident UGA homer). He was never as good on the field as he tested at the combine last year, and then he was almost a complete non factor on the field for Philly this year.

He is nowhere near the football talent that Jalen Carter is.

Wasn't Jordan Davis hurt? You're probably referring to early on, but the NFL does take some getting used to.

We'll see if you're right. I think he'll give Biadasz fits.

He was hurt some yes, but 18 tackles in 13 games is almost a complete nothing on the field. He made no tackles for loss and was credited with no sacks, or even hits on the QB either.

Because of his sheer size and then people seeing him lining up at FB some at UGA people got obsessed with him, then he blew up the combine. But he was never that great on the field and was rotated a ton, and not just because UGA had depth. Davis couldn't stay on the field due to stamina issues there.

LMAO. These palm tree hairdo's....
Stop it Dez. There's just no way Dallas could afford him without going very slim somewhere else on the depth chart
[CB, LB]. But I can sure dream, it is the off-season.

Video evidence indicates otherwise there Johnny Walker GM

Just sad how the decision making element of your starting QB is so casually glossed over there GM Jerry.
At some point the instant replay, All 22s and Warner breakdowns are gonna open your eyes that Prescott is a very poor decisionmaker with the ball in his hand. Regardless if not running when there's open field or errant throws when other options were clearly available.
And the bigger/better the opponent the more this flawed skillset trait becomes more obvious.
Real time decision making by QB1 is pretty important for team success.
Dak sucks at it.

I am with you but they have a mediocre QB they have to prop up. Expect a skill player at 26 unless someone like Carter from Georgia ends up in free fall.

I'd like to see him retire as a Cowboy and I do think he has some value particularly with Steele recovering. Cant be at his current rate of pay though. What is the over/under on how many games he plays next year? 7 maybe 9?

A) you are using the term GM very loosely here, if you mean money grubbing narcissist that loves the sound of his own voice then okay.

B) Jerry is the last to know just about everything when it comes to personnel. Shocking with all film I am sure he watches.
