Lawrence and Jaylon Smith are completely different circumstances.

One is actually a really, really good player and the other is a gimp legged dope.
All depends on how run stopping defensive ends and sack producing defensive ends are perceived commensurate with paycheck. Lawrence's 2nd contract lacked a whole lotta sacks for...what was it finally? 110 mil fully guaranteed, just sayin.

His pass rush grades are always pretty high. Year in and year out he is pretty consistent in his overall grades (run and pass).

He's unfortunately missed some games and had the back and foot stuf but he's a really good starter when he is out there and he busts his ass 100% of the time.

Jaylon was good for one season.

Guess I'm more an actual getting home guy vice pressures based on pay vs. production. Others support run stopping and pressures. But for me, for that kinda scratch I needed him to just step up once after his 2nd contract payday with some kinda semblance of consistent double digit sack production. Couple that with the fact that he plays mostly against the opponent right tackle(the lesser talented of most teams) and I guess I needed a higher impact for my buck.

No worries. Another overpaid Jerry 2nd contract imo.
But Im well aware how opinions vary.
