The Broncos hired Sean Peyton. At least we don’t have to hear about him replacing MM anymore.

Broncos gave up this years 1st, next years 2nd and 3rd.

I’m actually surprised he agreed to be involved in that shitshow! I always saw him as smarter than that.

Everybody said the same thing about Parcells working for Jones.

They want the money.

Yeah Gallup never looked quite right this year, certainly was not as explosive as he was pre-injury.

He should be 100% finally for next year, if so he is a big boost to the offense as he made a decent number if big plays his first 3 seasons.

Really good post Aggie and you should post more often.

This year was the year. It really was. And it's all wasted just as will be wasted next year with Dak. We finally have a decent D but we just can't overcome the defecit at the QB position. MY guess is it will be Dak's last year next year and, unfotunately, MM is tied directly to his sucess or lack there of.
IDK, Jerry can be a stubborn SOB. Look at how stuborn he has been with putting Jimmy in the Ring. Jerry might still think that if he can restructure Dak's contract, he can still build a team around Dak. I fear Jerry will be tempted to take whoever is the highest rated player at their spot, which will not be a QB, unless maybe a Levis slides.

There are several scenarios, but I don't think Dallas can wait to pull the trigger on a QB. Do it now, and if he is a bust, then there is still Dak. Dak should be the fallback plan in case they miss Zach Wilson style.

Hernon should still be there in round 2, but there is no guarantee. So, ideally, I'd drop back, pick up another second or a third, and take Herndon with say roughly the 35 pick or so.

And although Stetson was found drunk not long ago, I'd take Stetson in, say, round 6 to replace Rush, since I think Rush will follow Moore to the Chargers and help Herbert with Moore's offense. The Chargers will still have Herbert under his rookie deal in 2023. Stetson is smart. He'll pick things up quick.

I hope Jerry sees the Eagles roster, the Niners roster, and realizes that he needs to be bold to get past these teams.

Many are speculating Tom Brady will now go to the Niners for a couple of seasons. If Purdy needs Tommy John surgery he will be out for a year anyway, and then who knows if Purdy will be able to throw the same way.

So Brady to the Niners makes sense and I watched a lot of Tom Brady. People focus too much on stats. Tom Brady is still a beast. He just needs to be mentally right and going to his favorite team might be just what the MD ordered.

The Walmarts have far more money than Jerry.

I wonder what they are paying Payton.

20 mil a year is a rounding error for Jerruh and all billionaires. If we understand the difference between million and billion.

Jerruh won't pay because Jerruh is Jerruh. Not because he can't. He's a multi billionaire.

Planning for a QB needs f=some foresight and we have very little, if any. We took a CB on a trade up and a RB with top picks but we are alergic to QB's and just make excuses as to why we shouldn't draft one.

I'd take a QB each and every year. Hitting on late round picks is a crap shoot. I want a QB with arm talent. A guy that can make all the throws and hope we have to coaches to develop him. I always think the sign of a good coach is winning without your first string QB. MM has shown he can do that. Garrett couldn't win without Romo and the team was an utter embarrassment.

Stetson is intriguing and I like that spunk and attitude. But the NFL is a different game and I'm not sure he has the arm talent to translate tot he NFL game. Any QB has to have an arm and I'd hope my coaching staff could teach him the game and develop him.

Solari is old but he is an excellent OL coach. Been part of great OL's and OL play in San Fran (two stints) and Kansas City, and worked with Schottenheimer while he was OC in Seattle.

Has a great reputation.

Wade preferred hiring him in 2007 or 2008 but Garrett wanted Houck so they brought him back.

Jerry Jones: Mike McCarthy to call Cowboys' plays in 2023

Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones confirmed Wednesday that Mike McCarthy will be the franchise's first head coach to call plays since Jason Garrett in 2012, and that McCarthy will run a version of the West Coast offense he used from 2006 to 2018 with the Green Bay Packers

"This is the logical step to build on it and use what we've established, if you will, the foundation of the things we've got," Jones said to reporters at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. "This is the time for us to build on it. That's what this is, a building step.

It will be the first scheme change that quarterback Dak Prescott has had in his career with the Cowboys.
From 2016-22, the Cowboys used versions of the same offense but with different playcallers, first with Scott Linehan (2016-18) and then with Kellen Moore (2019-22).

"It will be, in principle, the way he operated in Green Bay, which I'm sure he'll tell you evolved," Jones said.
The Cowboys and Moore agreed to part ways, and Moore quickly landed the offensive coordinator job with the Los Angeles Chargers. Executive vice president Stephen Jones hinted at differences in opinion between McCarthy and Moore that led to the breakup while speaking to reporters in Mobile.

Jerry Jones said the Cowboys have interviewed Jeff Nixon, assistant head coach/offense for the Carolina Panthers, and Thomas Brown, the Los Angeles Rams' tight ends coach, for the coordinator vacancy.

Veteran offensive line coach Mike Solari will join the Cowboys, replacing Joe Philbin, per a source. He was an assistant offensive line coach under McCarthy in Green Bay (2015) and spent the past four seasons as line coach for the Seattle Seahawks.

McCarthy still has to fill the quarterbacks and running backs coach openings on offense and has a few openings on defense as well. Former Dallas quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier, whose departure was announced Sunday night, recently interviewed for the Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator job, sources told ESPN.
