Gilmore is a guy I really like in the 2nd round.

Second round might not be that bad..Gilmore, Minnifield, Jayron Hosley from the only school in Virgina that matters, and my boy Brandon Boykin.

How many teams legitimately need corners in the first round? I'd hate for their to be a run on the position before we get on the clock in the second. I'm sold on the Cowboys taking a corner with one of their top 2 picks, even if they have to force it like we did in 2000 with Goodrich, Lattimore, and Edwards.

I would just trade my 4th for Asante Samuel if the Eagles bite. That would buy us at least 2 years of a stopgap at a cheaper price. I want to fix the Oline, Dline, and LBs because those positions are harder to acquire. They go after a CB next year, or see what happens in FA.

Sweet mother of God. Why would you want to force that? It's stupid to force anything in the draft. If the value isn't there, move on. Forcing shit is the reason we ended up with Goodrich, Larrimore, and Edwards in the first place. And you're GOOD with that? I'd rather not go down that path again.

Would you like a non-physical corner who will bite on underneath routes guessing wrong frequently leading to huge completions over his head?

Then do I have a corner for you.

Maybe I worded that wrong. In 2000 we had a dire need at cornerback similar to what we have now. The teams solution to the problem was to just throw numbers at it in the draft and kind of force picks with guys like Goodrich and others. My fear is that the Cowboys will do the same this year and take a corner in either the first or second, regardless of our draft board.

Your fear is probably a reality.

We really don't need to fix the Dline as much as people are claiming. If the team is serious about fixing the Oline, then they need to move Ratliff to DE. Now it's been reported that the FO are considering this move, but I'll wait and see. Put Ratliff at DE, and Lissemore opposite of him, and either have Josh Brent at fulltime NT or bring in one via free agency. Those moves right there would fix the Dline. Then we could draft OL in the 1st (DeCastro), OLB in the 2nd (Branch), and then CB in the 3rd.

I'd give philly a call and ask what it would take for DRC. He's in his last year of his contract and only 25.

If it's just a 4th, I would be all over it. It would open up the draft a lot.

Any other corner worth trading a 4th+ rounder for? That could be a possibility we might look into

lol

It'll be a first or 2nd at best. They were demanding a first for Asante (who sucks balls comparatively), so I think their FO is a bit delusional. I thought about this too before my Asante post above, but realized it's not as probably. I know they're looking to dump Asante because his salary goes up like $4 million if he stays.
