Wow. I'm shocked about Kubiak retiring. Hadn't heard anything about that.

He's had health problems for awhile now. He had that mini stroke thing in Houston a few years ago too.

Shefter said his family has been talking to him about quitting all year.

I wonder if Denver would enter the Sean Payton-bidding war?

I really think Elway would call Kyle Shanahan before doing that.

In addition to the family name, didn't Shanahan work for Kubiak in Houston?

Sounds like some mutual interest between Sean Payton and Rams.

Good luck to him getting anything out of Goff.

I watched the first half of their game yesterday, and he was just hopeless again. I've said it several times past few weeks but I think he might be the worst #1 overall pick QB as a rookie that I've ever seen. He looks frail, he falls down if anyone gets close to him. Hasn't thrown the ball with much accuracy and appears confused by just about everything he sees.

Fwiw: #Saints coach Sean Payton says on WWL Radio “I definitely plan on being back here.” Has 4 years left and “plan on honoring that.”

Translation: I looked at NFL tape of Goff, and then hung up the phone with Rams ownership.

Yeah, he definitely doesn't look like an NFL QB

No one even requesting to speak with Linehan.

I'm genuinely surprised.

Garrett has a horseshoe wedged up that pasty ginger ass

I thought they'd be all over the child of Shanahan but apparently not. Didn't even interview him from what I've seen posted.

Broncos near deal to hire Vance Joseph as head coach

ESPN.com news services

The Denver Broncos are closing in on a deal with Vance Joseph to make him their new head coach, a source told ESPN's Josina Anderson on Wednesday.

The two sides are working out financial terms, the source said.

Joseph, 44, was the Miami Dolphins' defensive coordinator in 2016.

He was scheduled to interview for the San Diego Chargers' head-coaching vacancy on Wednesday but stayed in Denver after interviewing with the Broncos on Tuesday.

"He has great leadership qualities and a strong vision of what it takes to win,'' general manager John Elway tweeted after Tuesday's interview, which lasted several hours.

Joseph has quickly risen up the ranks the past few years, from a defensive backs coach with the Cincinnati Bengals for three years to defensive coordinator in Miami last season. He interviewed with Denver two seasons ago.

He has been praised for his schemes and honest and clear communication with players. The Dolphins have been injury-riddled on defense and that has led to inconsistencies, but Joseph was been a big part of Miami's turnaround from a 6-10 record in 2015 to a 10-6 record and playoff appearance this season.

Anthony Lynn is scheduled for a second interview with the Rams, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson, but I'm told Sean McVay remains the clear front-runner for the job.
