Hollywood celebrities have joined Global Zero, a leftist international nuclear disarmament group, by making a video in which they parrot President Barack Obama’s infamous 2009 speech in Prague where he said he would try to start reducing America’s nuclear stockpile to zero.

The video begins with Obama giving the opening of his speech:

“Today, I state clearly and with conviction America's commitment to seek the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons,” followed by intellectual luminaries Michael Douglas, Naomi Watts, Matt Damon and Robert De Niro repeating the speech in Obama’s own words. The conclusion features Obama again, saying, “The world must stand together to prevent the spread of these weapons. “

It seems hypocritical for the US to tell other countries that are not allowed to have them yet they do. Nukes are one of those things that every country will try to have.

The US and the rest of the world can tell Iran they aren't allowed to have them because they already stated they would used them on Israel.

I think that's just a bunch of talk anyways. If they wanted to destroy Israel why wouldn't they just bomb the fuck out of the place? You don't need nukes to eliminate a country.

Because bombing Israel would incur a reaction from more than just Israel. Nation to nation warfare is different than blaming it on 'factions and radicals'. Nukes are a deterrent from any sort of reaction.

Either way, you dont disarm yourself 'in good faith' on the world stage. It's naive.

They can't go toe to toe with Israel in a convential war from what I've heard about Israel's military.

I think the reaction from other countries would be the same regardless of if Iran nuked or launch a shit ton of missles at Israel.

Also if I were the States I wouldn't abandon my nuclear weapons either.
