Didn't see that one coming, wonder if its to hire their OC as HC so he doesn't get away

Yesterday was another major playoff fail for him (Fox) there though.

That's a stunner.

Super Bowl one year, unemployed after the next.

Manning was gonna retire unless Gase got the top job

You could see this going down a few ways:

1) Fox got blasted in the Super Bowl, and in his next home playoff game got humiliated at home by a team they were favored over heavily

2) Fox may have said he didn't think Manning could play any more and wanted them to move in a new direction, and Elway/Broncs didn't want to hear that

3) Maybe they don't want to lose OC

4) One thing floated is it might be health related

He was just along for the ride anyway.

Watch them bring back Shanahan.

Reports saying Broncos told ALL assistants they were free to look elsewhere.

Doesn't sound like they fired Fox with the idea of keeping Gase now. You'd think Gase would want to keep most, if not all those assistants.

Del Rio apparently going to Oakland.

Reports I have seen say they "parted by mutual agreement" and they let Fox out of his contract.

Right, but he had a contract and they didn't want him anymore.

Seems more like "fired" to me.

Might mean they are just going to do a massive rebuild, who knows.

I didn't realize he'd been there 4 full years now. Time flies.

Didn't he recently have a stroke or something?

I'd guess it's health related instead of a firing.

Wonder if Manning, or even Manning's health, has anything to do with this.

If Marinelli leaves, we should go after him as DC. I think he's a very good coach.

C'mon, Garrett, you know you wanna coach there. It's okay, you gave us some great times. Go for it.

Could be, although if that were the case they wouldn't be "letting him out of his contract" as some of the stories seem to indicate. He'd just be "retiring" I think.

Crazy thinking that Fox got fired after the run he had while Garrett kept his job after continued mediocrity.

Yeah, pretty sure we've been spending money too.

Hope it's not health related. For Foxs sake. Always liked him as a coach. Seemed like a no nonsense old school type at Carolina. Haven't paid much attention to Denver.

Was reading an article in the Denver paper that the Broncos brass were concerned that Fox didn't really want to be there late in the year, and that's one reason they both decided it was best to part ways.

Weird. Wonder what was going on there.
