It confuses nobody. Hasn't yet.

That's the idea behind it though, not to max-protect for the QB. We happen to use it in that role because we ignore the Oline.

Bennett blocks nearly 65% of the time and of the few times he does go out on a route, he only gets targeted like 15% of the time.

That's because Bennett sucks.

But lets say Dallas gets a really good TE, then what?

re: New England

You build a consistent, cohesive Oline and get a couple of nice TEs. Both don't have to be All-Pros. And the 2-TE package could be a beautiful thing.

Hoofbite said:
Now they have 2TEs who collect all the stats, letting their prized WRs who they've paid a pretty penny to acquire collect dust?

They've invested plenty into the skill positions. They have more than many teams around the league in this area. They do not need another TE.

They don't need to re-sign Laurent. Who knows what's up with Miles? We can draft a receiver and a TE.

Count me the fuck out of that mess.

2nd round TE, are you fucking kidding me?

Not a single OL to speak of in the entire mock?

Ignoring CB until the 6th round?

4th Round QB isn't bad if you've addressed other needs on the team.......which didn't happen.

The absolute 2 biggest holes on the team go nearly 100% ignored. Better start praying for a free agency bonanza to get a G, C, CB

No fucking way would that be a draft I would want. Fuck the 2nd round TE, this team needs to get over the idea that they absolutely NEED some sort of fucking stud backup TE.

They need to move away from the base 2TE as it is. Put 3WRs out there. You have three very capable WRs and a QB who can get it to them, why the fuck do they insist on 2TEs? Maybe if they had 5 capable OL, they wouldn't need a 6th OL out there.

I'm sure if something happened to Jason Witten, you'd probably be the first troll in line bashing the team for not getting a replacement for Martellus Bennett or not planning for the day when Witten wouldnt be here.

This team could sign Jesus Christ himself and you'd find something about that to bitch about.

Blah, blah, blah.

I'm a troll now? Sorry I don't want to see picks wasted.

Fuck, we might as just take a QB 1st round in case something happens to Romo. He has had a bone broken in 3 of the last 4 years.

How can anyone look at this draft without a single OL or a single quality CB who can be counted on to contribute right away and not absolutely hate it?

You really putting that many eggs into Jerry's FA Easter basket?

As for Jesus, what's his 40 time?

And a draft where not a single OL is taken will likely improve on the shit we've seen. Brilliant.

That's because Bennett sucks.

Well, he's a good 6th OL.

I'm not sure what you're saying.

Draft a TE. 6th round or later looks like a fantastic place to take one.

Hoof your over reacting to a newscaster firstborn at a mock.

Bill knows his stuff, he will probably change his mock a number of times.

I think next Sunday is the first episode of the blitz, which means bill will beat valley ranch Wednesday or thursday talkingto our front office. So as we get closer to the draft I am sure e will change many times. It is always my impression he talks to the scouts alot. Also brad sham is the other host and knows everyone obviously and usually spills some info here and there..

Unless Mickey is the co host this year, in which case expect little information and lots of justification.

You think this is over reacting, wait to how many lives perish should Dallas actually take a TE before the 6th round.

I'm serious, the infatuation with a #2 TE has got to stop.

Since acquiring Witten, Dallas has spent as many 2nd round or higher picks on TEs as they have on OL.

Think about that.

A position where you are lucky to have one great player and even a second good TE is on the field only 50% of the teams plays.

And

A UNIT Comprised of 5 players who are on the field for every single offensive down.

Since finding their 1 great TE, Dallas has spent 2 picks higher than a 3rd rounder on each.

Did he, or did he not say he saw us signing a CB and G via free agency?

Both.

It's on CBS 11 on Sunday nights locally and I think fox sports southwest shows it during the week also.....not 100% sure on that though.

Hang in there.

Bill does alot of this stuff, he talks about the draft all year, it will change.

He has had alot of our picks right recently though so he s worth paying attention to.....

Although he had aoa as the next Darren Woodson from what he said about him a couple years ago.

I'm saying we don't have to tie up all this money at WR. Let Robinson go and draft a WR.

We should be doing that regardless of whatever base set we run.

You heard it here first…on February 23rd.

With the 14th pick of the 2012 National Football League Draft, the Dallas Cowboys select:

Dont’a Hightower – LB – Alabama

From his tweet today:

Bill Jones ‏ @cbsdollarbill
Like Dont'a Hightower on field but Pro Day numbers suggest he's not edge rusher - probably 2nd rounder - great intangibles but lacks speed
