I'm sure if the Eagles or Pats drafted him, you'd be talking about what great moves they'd made.

Wrong. Where'd you get that? I don't think either of those teams have drafted that great lately, especially the Eagles.

I just think game-changing safeties are really rare and not usually worth taking top 15.

If we can improve the pass rush, and help out Ware, the coverage in the secondary will get better.

The longer the safeties and corners are covering the more acceptable they are to mistakes.

Look at the Giants for instance, their secondary is average, but the great front seven play makes them better than they really are.

I agree, but if the guy is clearly the best in the draft at his position (safety) and that area is a need for us (our safety poor has been really poor for several years) and they have a grade that fits that slot, there is nothing wrong with picking him. It would upgrade the teams defense.

do you mean other than the fact that I've watched the Giants find ways to iso their TE on our terribad man coverage safeties for the past 5 years?

Maybe it's because they're terribad? Do the Giants do that to every team? Does every team they face have All Pro safety tandems??

I think the problem is is that the book has been written already on ways to beat the Dallas D. Just one chapter is isolating the JAG safeties that they keep putting back there. Barron solves one half of that equation.
