Take it for what it's worth, babe talked about lovies defense having 44 takeaways and leading the league in interceptions.

Babe said something interesting.

He said firing a coach over the phone is something Jason didn't want to do but when a guy becomes available they want maybe they have to move on it.

So I guess lovie is a real candidate then? Maybe the candidate?

We might finally have a good defense.

Babe also said its not over and there is more to come.

Fuck.

But I like it for the cowboys. He runs less cover 2 than you think. We need to go after the ball in every capacity. The numbers on turnovers is way too conclusive.

Charles Tillman is a different kind of guy, but all of our defenders just lack that ballhawk instinct. It's like they're so bad at tackling they would never think of going for the syrup, even if they're the 2nd guy in the tàckle

Yeah our Dbs are inherently "scared cowards" when it comes tackling and they have ball skills like the blind.

No gripes if true assuming he is out of the running for the remaining vacant head coaching gigs. Maybe he can bring Henry Melton with him.

Lovie is a brilliant DC, but his downfall in Chicago was that he couldn't get the offense going. It ended up putting way too much pressure on the D to produce stops and points.

We have the exact same issue here in Dallas. Lovie's D will not hide Ginger's flaws. He's definitely the top DC out there, but unless we bring in a new HC and let him install a better offense, I think this won't produce more than 8 wins.

Like Rob Ryan said, we were 5-5 when his D was healthy and playing well. There's much larger issue in Dallas. (Not literally of course. Rob was def. fat).

So what happens next year when Dallas has had 3 highly regarded DCs, the offense is still shit putting the defense into a horrible position week after week and firing Lovie Smith would be a total admittance of ineptitude?

I dunno babe. If you're working in a time sensitive manner waiting a week to make a move that would even indicate you would have a need for the such a guy doesn't seem like the most time effective plan.

Then again, Jerry had to consult with his magical 8 ball "sources". What the fuck is even going on that this guy seeks advice outside of the organization like this?

How about you just hire a few of these guys and have their priceless information at your disposal at all times, not just when you've completely fucked yourself and need it most.

Last week was meetings on the players, they don't start staff meetings till yesterday.

Maybe they thought lovie would get the buffalo/kc job and maybe they know if Philly doesn't hire him he won't get any more shots? So they want to make the offer to him after the eagles visit?

Wonder if this will this be the excuse if Lovie goes elsewhere... "He couldn't get the guy he really wanted."

Horton isn't "out" anywhere. AZ has no reason to fire him other than his awful haircut.

Capers might be another option after his team gets eliminated here in a couple days. If not, we'll probably end up with Wannstedt and JJ preaching that things will be just like '92 in order to sell seats and merchandise.

I dont want anything to do with Capers.

Lovie is an interesting hire if he gets the job though. Not only is he a very sound defensive coach who would probably get vast improvement out of the defense from day one, but if the team doesnt get off to a good start next year he becomes a prime "interim HC" candidate, then gets the permanent job in 2014.

Give me Lovie.

Then he can replace Garrett mid-season just like Garrett did to Wade.

If the football Gods shine upon our asses and bless us with Lovie Smith - which would puzzle me because how in the world does he not get a new HC gig - but yeah, if we land him, he'll end up our head coach at some point.

I'm sure this is auto correct but "going for the syrup" is a great saying.

I'm Told Rob Ryan move happened quickly because the next move needs to happen quickly as #Cowboys out race somebody to a defensive mind

If true, that would seem to eliminate Monte Kiffin and Romeo Crennel. I haven't heard them being mentioned as interviewing anywhere.
