So lets say you have a probowl starter, a capable backup and a 3rd guy you like and believe has the tools to develop. Why would you waste a pick on a QB just for the sake of drafting a QB? Your only going to keep 3, some teams only 2. You might have an added guy on the practice squad, but you arnt guaranteed to keep that guy as he can sign elsewhere to somebody's active roster.

I've heard the argument before, and I dont buy into it. Now if you dont like one of your QB's, sure draft one with the intent of replacing somebody.

Because you don't draft for need. You're just not smart enough to know that.

Highest rated player on the board is a QB in the 1st rd, you honestly think a team like the Chargers, Saints, Rams or Packers are drafting one there?

Hell no, they arnt.

Hence, they'd be drafting the best player available, at a position of need.

You need guys love to create a scenario like that to justify using the draft as free agency.

I'd say the best teams in football, the best GMs, they draft talent. Rarely would they be in a situation where there's a stand alone prospect at a position where they are stacked.
